Is the sky a horrible colour where you are?

It's so strange here (London) - sort of sepia with undertones of greenish yellow! I don't remember ever seeing such an unappealing sky.

It’s a sort of Yellowy grey where I am in the midlands. I think it’s the sandstorm travelling over. It’s a really yucky colour at the moment.

Vapeyvapevape · 16/03/2022 14:43

Just murky grey here but I think we are due some sort of sandstorm

TheWitchwithNoName · 16/03/2022 14:43

Near London and it’s very yellow. My car had sand on it by lunchtime. I think I heard it’s come up from Spain?

Samcro · 16/03/2022 14:44

its sand from the sahara.

SnowWhiteLobelia · 16/03/2022 14:44

apricot where I am. It's rather pretty!

goingtotown · 16/03/2022 14:44

Yellow sky cars covered in dark orange dust. North London.

BoodleBug51 · 16/03/2022 14:45

Bright blue sky here in Cornwall.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 16/03/2022 14:46

Oh good, sand doesn't freak me out, and my car is filthy anyway. It looks so end-of-the-worldish out there it was giving me the creeps.

Well it isn't (NE), but as soon as I saw your title I knew what you meant; so even if you haven't seen it before it's obviously an established phenomenon Grin

MarthaFokker · 16/03/2022 14:46

Yes, it started raining earlier and when my DS put his windscreen wipers on, it just spread browny orange shit around the windscreen.

As others have said, it's sand from the Sahara.

HavfrueDenizKisi · 16/03/2022 14:47

Yup London here. Sky an unusual yellow colour - DD asked about it this morning. Car now covered in orange dust. Good thing I hadn't washed it over the weekend!

LemonDrizzles · 16/03/2022 14:48

Yes here is south west London it has been an odd yellow colour. Looks disturbing!!

TheYearOfSmallThings · 16/03/2022 14:48

But there is no wind though?

Mmm, browny orange shit! Something to look forward to.

It's beautiful here in the west of Ireland. Bright blue sky with a few fluffy clouds. A perfect spring day.

The wind is (or was) in the Sahara, stirring up the sand into the weather.
Dociousalaexpifragalisticcalas · 16/03/2022 14:52

Dirty grey here like manky washing up water 😂

Northernsoullover · 16/03/2022 14:52

Nothing in South Wales. They did say the SE would get it first. I'm hoping we get to see it.

stimpyyouidiot · 16/03/2022 14:52

Grey/orange here. Had some dusty rain on my car too! Assumed it was sand like it was last year.

TheLeadbetterLife · 16/03/2022 14:53

I'm in Portugal and we have it here too, it's dust from North Africa. Very strange, like looking through a Quality Street wrapper. I imagine it's more pronounced here than in London, as we're so much closer to the source.

Duracellbunnywannabe · 16/03/2022 14:54

Just murky grey.

The only time I’ve seen a sepia sky it was followed by horrific torrential rain and flash flooding. People had couldn’t drive and they had to abandon their cars.

Scarecrowrowboat · 16/03/2022 14:55

Yes had that orangey tinge but now has just got grey. Not far from London.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 16/03/2022 14:57

Yes, if you layered the cellophane from a toffee finger and a butterscotch crunch you could get the same filter.

frazzledasarock · 16/03/2022 14:59

Yes it looks like the world has had a spray tan in my immediate environment

BeanStew22 · 16/03/2022 15:01

Dirty yellow/green/grey here in London

I’ve seen it before (maybe 2017/18) & again source was a Saharan sandstorm. I remember talking to colleagues about how weird the sky was it that day
