Urgent health issue A&E???

TomAllenWife · 15/03/2022 23:12

I've come to bed and have started itching all over, from the soles of my feet up to the top of my head, it's umbearable
I have a rash, my face is bright red, boiling hot, throbbing and my lips are swollen & tingling

I literally can't keep still, every bit of me is on fire

I called A&E as we have to here and they're calling me back

Any ideas?? I'm terrified

I'd start by taking an antihistamine

TomAllenWife · 15/03/2022 23:14

Yep done that

I would go straight to a&E if lips are swollen.

Are you taking any medication? Tramadol can cause intense itching

TomAllenWife · 15/03/2022 23:17

No only my regular medication that I take every nite

Is your throat okay? Can you breathe properly?

TerryChoc · 15/03/2022 23:18

If antihistamine hasn’t helped then I would, you’ve come online somewhere desperate as your body is on fire I would just go, you’ve clearly reacted badly to something and might need more power to calm it.

WelshyMaud · 15/03/2022 23:19

Yes get to A&E ASAP op. Is anyone with you?

TomAllenWife · 15/03/2022 23:21

You can't just turn up to our a&e
My breathing is ok, but my lips are still weird
The itching is the worst I could pull my skin off

Hope you’re getting help

TomAllenWife · 15/03/2022 23:23

I don't know what else to do

No one is with me
DP is asleep with his phone off

Just go if they are ringing you back on your mobile

Wishing you a speedy recovery

WelshyMaud · 15/03/2022 23:24

Try to stay calm, your breathing being OK is the main thing and a big positive. Hope they call you soon op.

TomAllenWife · 15/03/2022 23:25

I'm not sure if my breathing is getting bad or I'm panicking

BlindGirlMcSqueaky · 15/03/2022 23:25

I would take a bigger dose of antihistamines than you would normally, so I'd have more of those.

UpintNorth · 15/03/2022 23:26

@TomAllenWife call 999 and/or wake your DP. You need help IRL

BlindGirlMcSqueaky · 15/03/2022 23:27

Also, did you get changed for bed? Any changes in washing powder on your pyjamas and sheets?

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 15/03/2022 23:27

Ring again now . Sounds like it could be an allergic reaction.

amispeakingintongues · 15/03/2022 23:27

I'm not sure why you can't turn up to A&E. That is literally why it exists. Just go.

substrate · 15/03/2022 23:27

Did you eat anything out of the ordinary?

Focus on the out breath. Flowers

TerryChoc · 15/03/2022 23:27

Oh lord can’t imagine a place you can’t just present to a&e! While you’re waiting on your call I suggest getting cool (but not cold) as your body will be heating up with said histamines and have some pain relief as it will be hurting you

WelshyMaud · 15/03/2022 23:27

You're probably panicking...but call them back or just go there. Surely they won't turn you away if you arrive with an emergency?

NippyWoowoo · 15/03/2022 23:30

Another dose of antihistamine. Abs a cold shower?

TerryChoc · 15/03/2022 23:30

Also calm you’re breathing if you can. The simplest way is to count 4 seconds at a time while pointing your finger in a diamond shape and stopping at each point when the second hits (hope that makes sense I’m trying to be quick)
