@Thecazelets

Armund - I'm from London. DH (Midlands) says 'Owlmund'.
I was sounding it out to myself. Al-mund is how I say it in my head, but it does sound more "owl-mund" out loud! West Midlands too.

AL - Mund. (Northampton out of South Wales.)

Why would it be pronounced differently? (Learning much from this thread.)

InFiveMins · 05/03/2022 20:11

It drives me mad that I never know how to pronounce it. I go between "ah-mund" and "al-mund".

rosegoldwatcher · 05/03/2022 20:13

No matter how they are pronounced, they are food of the Gods. (But very pricey!)

saraclara · 05/03/2022 20:26

Ah-mund.

Grew up in the East Midlands, have lived in the southeast for 40 years. I know I've always said ah-mund, but to be honest, I've never really noticed what the people around me in the SE say.

MrsPsmalls · 05/03/2022 20:26

In my experience younger people pronounce the l (possibly usa influence) and older people leave it out.

Lulu1919 · 05/03/2022 20:27
