CeleriacOfTheNight · 05/03/2022 19:26

Ah mund

Pure and simple.

Born in a world, where love survives.

Billandben444 · 05/03/2022 19:26

Aah-mnd
North London originally.
The L is definitely silent.

GiantSpider · 05/03/2022 19:27

Ah-mond (with a silent L)
London

SnowdropsInSpring · 05/03/2022 19:27

Arlmund

For some reason I get irrationally annoyed by people. Issuing the 'l'!

Gherkingreen · 05/03/2022 19:28

Ollm'nd - NW

AcidZumba · 05/03/2022 19:28

Ar-mund South East, DH days Al-mund and is from East London. I always thought saying Al-mund was incorrect but I don't know where I got that from (my Hyacinth Bucket mother probably!)

All-mnd Born London, childhood South Coast now NW.

flashpaper · 05/03/2022 19:33

Ol-mund. NW.
I didn't even realise that ah-mund was a thing until that stupid advert asking "do you almond?" Which obviously I don't because, no matter the pronunciation, almond is not a verb.

Liveandkicking · 05/03/2022 19:33

Ah-m’nd

Jacopo · 05/03/2022 19:34

Ahmund. Scotland.

Ollmund gives me the rage. As does bollcony instead of balcony. And Mollcolm instead of Malcolm.

ThisBloodyNoiseInMyHead · 05/03/2022 19:34

Arl-mund

chesirecat99 · 05/03/2022 19:35

Aah-mund London (but with a generic RP accent rather than London cockney, which I guess might make a difference).

ThisBloodyNoiseInMyHead · 05/03/2022 19:35

arl-mund, Nottingham

mizzo · 05/03/2022 19:35

Ahmund

I remember massive argument with my best friend about it aged 12 because she said it was Al mund, she also thought the lyric in Wet Wet Wet's Wishing Well was "...take your loving from the Siene and make it last" so clearly clueless HmmGrin

FlippyFloppyFlappy · 05/03/2022 19:37

@Jacopo

Ahmund. Scotland.

Ollmund gives me the rage. As does bollcony instead of balcony. And Mollcolm instead of Malcolm.

I say oll-mund, but I don't say bolcony or Mollcolm 🤔 Cant think of an accent that does.
HoneyItIsntGoodLuck · 05/03/2022 19:39

Ah-mund. NZ.

The ‘l’ is silent - just like salmon, calm, palm, etc.
