I didn't even know that was possible.

Not me, the woman at the front of the queue when I joined. It appeared to be just all random bits rather than furniture or anything else expensive. Her trolley was piled high when she left.

I only went in for the posh tonic water they have for 19 p a bottle and managed to get away with £15 worth of different tonics, unusual crisps, proper Spanish allioli and some shower gels but hats off to her that was another level.

I wonder if she went in for that much 😂

I discovered The Range about 15 years ago around the time Woolies closed. It was like a miracle. I regularly spent a fortune. It has spoilt me because HB and B&M seem rubbish by comparison apart from for food. I can go in either and come out empty-handed (unfortunately our nearest Range is a lot further than them). Although The Range are rapidly increasing their food offering.

I dont have a Home Bargains. I have been to B&M and it's just soooooo much tat! Although I did get the sticky tiles for our bathroom floor from there which were excellent.

We have The Range which is brilliant for xmas stuff. It's a tradition for me to go there every year and buy more xmas decorations we dont need Grin

I love ikea, we have one in my town and it's a proper outing. Before my sister died earlier this year, our thing was to go to ikea and spend hours wandering round testing out all the furniture before spending several more hours buying anything not nailed down in the market place.

I really miss those times Sad

I’ve just popped in my local B&M for a couple of Zofloras and ended up spending £60 on tat (did bring 14 year old dd who has just fallen out with her friend, so most of it was cheering up crap)

Someone in front of us at duty free at an airport in Turkey spent 400 euros in toblerones once!
@BarbaraofSeville tell me about the posh tonic? I'm intrigued...
It's Merchants heart hibiscus.

£1.10 on Ocado or 19 p in Home Bargains, short dated, but who cares? I also got some Mediterranean Eden Bay tonic which I haven't seen before. Fever tree dupe at half the price, but the important factor to me is no artificial sweeteners.

This HB is a massive new store with fresh food and all sorts. We have all the bargain shops here including a decades old B&M, which I'm sure used to be called Bargains Madness, or that could possibly be the name DP and I made up for it.

My local home Bargains has been open at least 16 years as I used to go to get things for baby dd1 and she's 16 in a couple of weeks.

One local The Range opened where Big W (the larger Woolworths) was, they took half and B and M the other. So it is post Woolies.

I recall (and it comes up on my memories on FB) on one occasion I was in Poundland (when everything WAS a pound) and got in the wrong queue. I always do this. I excelled myself this time when the woman in front spent £99. Have you any idea how long it takes a semi comatose assistant to ring through 99 items? BLOODY AGES! Confused

The one in the nearest to me did this. Wonder if we live in the same place @Whitefire

@Phormiumjester

My husband calls it The Fifty Quid Shop
Hilarious!

Just off for a Home Bargains and Lidl binge. I should not be spending much money but feeling like cheering myself up!
Will try and stay out of The Range!
