I'm going to the sweet shop to buy a quarter of...

...strawberry sherbets, or Yorkshire Mixture. But they make one's mouth sore so I might have to get some toffees - mint, treacle or rum butter - to scoff afterwards.

What will you have from the sweet shop ? Don't worry about the cost, or your teeth. MNHQ is picking up the shop and dental bills for everyone.

My friend was from Newcastle upon Tyne. She always used to buy me Berwick Cockles and some sweets that I think were called Black Bullets.
Have I remembered these correctly? It was a long time ago.

My Grandma used to take me into the Pick n Mix shop and tell me to get a quarter of something. God it was a challenge getting the right mix of chunky but delicious ones, such as coconut mushrooms, and tasty but lightweight fillers like jelly beans!! More than once I was a little bit over...
