...strawberry sherbets, or Yorkshire Mixture. But they make one's mouth sore so I might have to get some toffees - mint, treacle or rum butter - to scoff afterwards.

What will you have from the sweet shop ? Don't worry about the cost, or your teeth. MNHQ is picking up the shop and dental bills for everyone.

Fruit Salads were scrummy but ruinous for one's teeth (and fillings).

I never once ate a Flying Saucer as a child. I never fancied that amount of a sherbert 'hit' in one go.

I had a habit of buying the most expensive sweets in the newsagents when I was a bairn. Stuff like Callard and Bowser chocolate toffee rolls, Parkinson mint thins and Pascal's fruit bonbons. I used to get Trebor Glitter Fruits from the Asda pick n mix too.
