I'm going to the sweet shop to buy a quarter of...

...strawberry sherbets, or Yorkshire Mixture. But they make one's mouth sore so I might have to get some toffees - mint, treacle or rum butter - to scoff afterwards.

What will you have from the sweet shop ? Don't worry about the cost, or your teeth. MNHQ is picking up the shop and dental bills for everyone.

Half half of Bon bons and pear drops. And I'll read smash hits for free off the rack while choosing

Coffeesnob11 · 28/02/2022 08:19

I love almost every sweet but my favourites were
Rum balls
Toffee crumble
Yoghurt covered raisins
White mice
Jazzies
Chocolate lick
Sweet peanuts
Cola cubes
Chocolate pips

And not loose but Pacers.

Pear drops.

I'll also have a bag of mix ups while I'm at it - I love a surprise

Dolly Mixtures please! The ones you get in bags at supermarkets just aren’t the same.

I will have two ounces of midget gems and two ounces of licorice comfits, mixed in the same bag please.

LadyPropane · 28/02/2022 08:30

Sherbert lemons and black jacks.

Not to be consumed in the same sitting, of course. I'm not a monster.

Ps I still know of a sweet shop that does this by the quarter and sweets by the 1p/2p/5p etc and it’s heaven!

Choc Lick (crushed up smarties) and reds n blacks (midget gems). Possibly some fruit trillions (those teeny tiny little choking hazard things, that are great to eat one at a time as they then last for ages).

ButtockUp · 28/02/2022 12:23

Jap Desserts or those mushrooms covered in coconut.

Bluelillies · 28/02/2022 12:40

@WildRosie on the back of this thread and a glass or two of wine last night I’ve now got an order coming from Sweetzy and a tree planted on the back of my order

The tree should ease my conscious slightly whilst I’m eating the sweets

Deathraystare · 28/02/2022 14:47

Very happy that the hospital shop sells Co op sweeties that include my favourite milk bottles (like milk gums). Also the jelly beans (without gelatine - hooray!).
