Morning all, what are you up to today?

I've just finished my silent cuppa; I can hear dd2 creaking about upstairs so she'll probably come down shortly for breakfast.

I have all sorts to do today so have already booked my online Tesco shop. Next I'll make a coffee & then pin some trousers while I drink that.

I also need to wash up from last night, and iron school uniforms. Repair my McGonnagal costume for Thursday, paint a wooden spoon puppet, put together the makings of a torch for a friend's ds, and, if I get to it, last week's Rainbows and Guides admin.

The girls have already done their homework so they'll probably have a chill day with their screens. Although dd2 has lost her pencil case somewhere in her pit 🙄 so will need to tidy to find it!

There is washing to be done too but the basket's in dd2's bedroom so I'll get that next time I go up.

Anyone up to much? :)

Meeting friends for coffee at 11am. I also need to finish washing, nag my two older boys into some revision (GCSE & A level) and help my year 7 with some homework. I’m going to write next week’s menu and start the online shop. Out for a walk at some point I hope.

Stormystar · 27/02/2022 08:48

Had a busy half term so looking forward to staying in today, hopefully! Ds has a football game in a bit but Dh is taking him this weekend! Will get up in a bit for a cuppa and potter about the house and check homework is all done etc. might watch a film later with the youngest 🙂

Pascha · 27/02/2022 09:05

Drinking coffee while everyone potters about with breakfast and such. The boys will strip their beds and then dh is raking Ds2 to football. I've promised Ds1 a Minecraft session once he's finished upstairs.

Roast beef later this afternoon, once I've bought it from Tesco.

AllotmentTime · 27/02/2022 09:17

I am on my second coffee and I’ve brought it back to bed. Grin DH has dozed off again, the DC are watching television.

This morning will be mostly chores. Homework, laundry, tidying. Then gardening this afternoon and DH will be working on his car.

Actually I REALLY ought to clean the car, maybe that instead of/as well as gardening. Ugh. Might bribe the DC to help. I do want to prune the roses and the clematis though.

Roast beef later, DH is cooking Grin

This is a lovely thread.

Just now I'm having coffee on the deck and in a moment I'll chuck my bedsheets in the wash and spend some time at the piano while they spin. Then DDog and I will go for a little hike and a picnic lunch, before I go to my studio to play on the wheel for a while this afternoon –I want to make a teapot as a gift for a friend's birthday coming up.

This evening DP, DSS, and DSS's girlfriend are coming up for our regular Sunday Night Dinner at my house –it's DSS's girlfriend's birthday today so we'll make fajitas (her favourite).

satelliteheart · 27/02/2022 09:30

I love these threads

The children are eating breakfast while I drink my second cup of tea, dh having the lie in. I'm about to go and fold yesterday's laundry and put the next load in, then will make a packed lunch ready to go to our local farm park for the day once dh gets up.

Dh has some work to do late afternoon so we'll come home for that and I'll start the roast chicken. The children should be exhausted from a busy day outside so will hopefully play quietly

maddiemookins16mum · 27/02/2022 09:31

I’ve been awake since 5am, our elderly cat has taken to yowling at all hours (she has a vets appt tomorrow).
Popped out for petrol at 8am as was on one bar😲. About to head to Aldi for a shop then I’ll do a lovely roast pork dinner.
Lots of telly to catch up on today.
DH is about to tackle the ironing.

Zazdar · 27/02/2022 09:32

Just got back from the gym. Now it’s church, then work.

Crunchymum · 27/02/2022 09:32

It's just me and the 4yo here this morning as older two and DP went to stay with his brother and SIL (they all went hiking which myself and 4yo couldn't join in so we've stayed home)

Proper lazy morning so far. Bought little one into bed with me and we only got up at 9am.

I'll blitz the house whilst everyone is out and prep dinner. We'll probably go for a more leisurely walk before everyone else is home and homework / baths / get ready for the week ahead choas starts.

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 27/02/2022 09:34

DH has taken DD to the park. I've had a shower and am now dressed and ready for the day. Going to nip out to to the shop about 10ish and get some groceries and gardening stuff then we'll spend a bit of time clearing up the garden this afternoon as it looks like we'll be having a sunny day.

bushtailadventures · 27/02/2022 09:38

I'm trying to sew a mermaid costume for dgd with unbearably slippy fabric, said dgd is watching cbeebies in the living room because she wants to be left alone Smile

I've got washing on the go, and I decide they're having pasta for lunch because I don't want to think of anything else today, Sundays always seem hectic here, no sign of a lazy day (although I'm keeping my pj's on in protest)

HereLiveIAmNotACat · 27/02/2022 09:38

I’m still laying in bed, DD still sleeping. Need to get up for coffee and shower.

Then have to catch up on all the things I neglected during half term- tip run, tidy house, laundry x 1000, change the beds. And have work due in tomorrow yet to be started.

Sighhh can I just stay in bed

bruce43mydog · 27/02/2022 09:39

not sure yet but the sun is out so it can only get better

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 27/02/2022 09:48

Big ol' house blitz once I've finished my late breakfast of crumpets with maple butter (yes, as good as they sound). Later on I'll drink tea in front of an old movie while attempting to find out what time DH and DCs will be back from their weekend away and whether they want dinner or not. I need to leave the house go out and get some milk too, bah!

Cookiecrumble22 · 27/02/2022 09:48

Simonjt · 27/02/2022 09:53

We’ve had breakfast, been to the park and now we’re at home watching some telly (Encanto again). My inlaws land at around 2pm today so I need to collect them from the airport, they’re staying here for a week before going to various places in the UK.

Later I need to sort my sons world book day costume, he wants to be Stanley Yelnats, so at least thats nice and easy.

anne2650 · 27/02/2022 09:54

I've been up since 6. Did some work on my laptop whilst watching a movie on Prime about Guantanamo Bay. Had coffee and a pancake. Showered and back in bed but need to get up now (maybe 5 more minutes..) Roast chicken dinner planned and will see elderly FIL.

BarbaraLoganPrice · 27/02/2022 10:00

DH and DC1 are out at dance class. DC2 and DC3 watching Cbeebies. I'm having a coffee before I start tackling the tidying up. Then I need to clean the bathrooms and put some washing away, and after lunch we're off to IL's for the afternoon.

Flingingmelon · 27/02/2022 10:04

Just about to get up for sausage sandwiches - Sunday morning tradition.

Bit of gardening, trip to Tesco, need to tackle a world book day costume (when do they grow out of this?!)

Expecting a few people around this pm for tea / wine and cakes

DH off for a cycle

CrackerGal · 27/02/2022 10:07

Sitting drinking coffee & browsing mumsnet right now!
Need to get myself organised & get my hair done & face on because I've got a birthday party to host in a few hours!
Wish me luck! 😬
Hope you all have a lovely Sunday ☀️

Ostryga · 27/02/2022 10:09

Having friends over for brunch in a bit. French toast with fried chicken in honey hot sauce! And lots of bloody Mary’s and Buck’s Fizz.

Then spending the rest of the day out because the weather is glorious here today.

AdoraBell · 27/02/2022 10:11

Visiting DD1 in her University city 😀2 hours drive each but I don’t care.

devildeepbluesea · 27/02/2022 10:12

Took DDog and DSis’s dog for the most glorious walks over the common and up the woods. It was so beautiful I seriously contemplated going straight back out and doing it all over again.

Then I made crumpets, bacon and maple syrup. Now standing at kitchen counter planning the rest of the day. Probably a trip to Lidl, take DD to her dad’s, then another walk and some TV.

HangingOver · 27/02/2022 10:13

Me and DP off the a really fancy hotel/spa for our six year anniversary! And I'm borrowing an unbelievably saucy dress from my friend to wear for the dinner Grin
