I've just finished my silent cuppa; I can hear dd2 creaking about upstairs so she'll probably come down shortly for breakfast.

I have all sorts to do today so have already booked my online Tesco shop. Next I'll make a coffee & then pin some trousers while I drink that.

I also need to wash up from last night, and iron school uniforms. Repair my McGonnagal costume for Thursday, paint a wooden spoon puppet, put together the makings of a torch for a friend's ds, and, if I get to it, last week's Rainbows and Guides admin.

The girls have already done their homework so they'll probably have a chill day with their screens. Although dd2 has lost her pencil case somewhere in her pit 🙄 so will need to tidy to find it!

There is washing to be done too but the basket's in dd2's bedroom so I'll get that next time I go up.

Anyone up to much? :)

@Ostryga

Having friends over for brunch in a bit. French toast with fried chicken in honey hot sauce! And lots of bloody Mary’s and Buck’s Fizz.

Then spending the rest of the day out because the weather is glorious here today.

Amazing. Weekend inspiration!

Had a bit of a lie in and made bacon sandwiches for breakfast. Went for a walk for an hour or so with the dog, returned home and did a few chores and now sat with feet up browsing MN and listening to the radio.

Will be making a roast dinner later which I love doing on a Sunday with a glass (or 3) of wine. I shut myself away for a couple of hours to make it and it's just bliss to have that time to myself cooking, drinking, listening to music or a podcast. It's my favourite time of the week 😂

Up very early as I am really struggling with leg pain & everything else stiffens up when I’m in bed. So fed up with it. Showered which helped a bit then dropped DD13 in town to go to the cinema with her friend. Popped to Tescos for a couple of bits. DH was cleaning the rabbit hutches when I got back & I gave the rabbits that were out some banana. I was going to unload & reload the dishwasher but DH did it as I was suffering. Made a lovely crispy bacon, avocado & mayo sandwich for lunch & caught up on magazine reading whilst I was eating it. I took out a subscription to Woman & Home ( £6 for 6 issues) & am still on January, I really shouldn’t do it because I always end up with a pile I haven’t read! What I should be doing now is putting DD’s clothes away so that I can tell her just how much stuff she has that will still fit & that she doesn’t need an entire summer wardrobe from Primark! She’s very skilled at spending my money! I also need to clear all the rubbish from my car as our neighbour is valeting it first thing tomorrow. Halfterm is over but DD is refusing to go back. She’s attended less than 10 days since Christmas 😢 Making a sausage casserole with mulled wine for tea ( recipe found on Mumsnet). Can’t wait to try it! Will miss watching Call the Midwife so going to trawl the channels to find a good mini - series.

Up early as eldest is having bad dreams and then calling into us at 7am which isn't crazy early but usually we get a lie in until 8 or 9

Took them to sport lesson. Two hours. Then home to cook med veg and roast chicken and while that was on I made s huge cottage pie (I froze mash during the week so just had to whizz the veg in the processor and cook the mince)

DC are allowed a small bit of screen time on Sundays. I have a nice magazine to read. Tired. Have to sort uniforms. Might go out to get paint for the inside of my microwave. See one that's recommended.

Pegasussnail · 27/02/2022 14:07

The bad dreams were at 10pm and 3am. Don't know what I can do about them

ImJustNotMeAnymore · 27/02/2022 14:23

Laundry, let dogs in and out and in and out. Scoffed sausages and chocolate biscuits. Realised how much I miss childhood Sunday evenings and their smell, and private school and it's smell. Sad now.

So far... Took youngest for his haircut, Took oldest to football match, collected Asda shop, had a cup of tea, washing, now snuggles on sofa watching Bear Hunt

weegiemum · 27/02/2022 14:59

So far, slept in and was nearly late for church. Made it though, luckily I didn't have anything to do in the service today!

Had lunch with the church (we're a very small group) and tidied up.

Now facing the kitchen, needs to be tidy as our new dishwasher is coming tomorrow morning (hooray!!) but considering a nap. I'm very tired at the moment for some reason.

Slept in late, which was needed as DS woke me up several times after having bad dreams. We went to the family day at the local Art Museum and made alien masks and rockets and viewed the art, odd displays at the moment, did not understand them.

Chicken wings cooking for dinner and everyone is watching Simpsons while we wait. Might watch a film with DD tonight after DS goes to bed as its half term next week so no early start in the morning.

MrsBerthaRochester · 27/02/2022 15:31

Feeling sad that I dont have anyone to spend such a lovely day with. Dd still out with friends,ds1 just back from pals and gone to bed. Ds2 half heartly playing out front with his best pal who has been ditching him the last few months to hang out with other boys.
I get SAD in reverse. Love winter and hate it when the nights start getting lighter and there is pressure to always be doing stuff.

AdoraBell · 27/02/2022 17:19

Back home from Cardiff, DD was exhausted due to bloody long shifts in a bar. She’s done over 60 hours this week and was due to work again this pm. Her boss rearranged the rota and told DD to rest, as she didn’t finish until 6am today. It was lovely to see her. Now back laundry, dogs, tidying and sorting things.

bettertocryinamercedes · 27/02/2022 20:21

Went for a walk down the fields with the dogs after a nice long lie.

In the Morning we cleared out the lambing shed ready for Easter arrivals and then this afternoon made new wooden gates for the pens.

Really lovely day as it was nice weather and I enjoy cracking on with jobs with dh and dss- we had tunes blaring and lots of laughs.

Had roast lamb (not ours!!) for dinner and I'm considering some Swiss roll and custard which I definitely don't need....!
