Morning all, what are you up to today?

I've just finished my silent cuppa; I can hear dd2 creaking about upstairs so she'll probably come down shortly for breakfast.

I have all sorts to do today so have already booked my online Tesco shop. Next I'll make a coffee & then pin some trousers while I drink that.

I also need to wash up from last night, and iron school uniforms. Repair my McGonnagal costume for Thursday, paint a wooden spoon puppet, put together the makings of a torch for a friend's ds, and, if I get to it, last week's Rainbows and Guides admin.

The girls have already done their homework so they'll probably have a chill day with their screens. Although dd2 has lost her pencil case somewhere in her pit 🙄 so will need to tidy to find it!

There is washing to be done too but the basket's in dd2's bedroom so I'll get that next time I go up.

Anyone up to much? :)

I was up at 8am with the baby so I fed him and done some housework.

Its sunday funday so we will spend the rest of the day me, partner and baby snuggled up on the sofa watching tv, playing with toys and drinking lots of tea!

The weather looks really nice so I am tempted to go out for a 5k walk 😍

Stade197 · 27/02/2022 10:14

@Flingingmelon

Just about to get up for sausage sandwiches - Sunday morning tradition.

Bit of gardening, trip to Tesco, need to tackle a world book day costume (when do they grow out of this?!)

Expecting a few people around this pm for tea / wine and cakes

DH off for a cycle

I haven't had a sausage sandwich in years! I need one now 😍
sofakingcool · 27/02/2022 10:17

Not loads, back to work tomorrow after half term and it's been a busy one so just want to relax

DS1 has A Level exams coming up so I imagine there was be a bit of chivvying him along to do some revision and we could do with finalising his Uni choices so maybe we'll do those probably not

MrsDThomas · 27/02/2022 10:18

Just had my booster. Waiting to leave.

Tesco, prepare the roast beef and then wash my windows down. 3 storms in a week means i can’t see through them!

monicagellerbing · 27/02/2022 10:20

I've cleaned and tidied the bedrooms and stripped my bed which is now in the wash, DH tidied and cleaned downstairs while I did upstairs. DH and DC's off swimming in about half an hour so I'm going to find a horror movie to watch while they are out. Then maybe a trip to the park this afternoon and we are having an English breakfast for tea can't wait!

Malibuismysecrethome · 27/02/2022 10:23

My plans have been cancelled, just done housework and washing and going to pop to the shops for food. Struggling to get motivated to do more.

HuntingoftheSnark · 27/02/2022 10:24

I've just googled Stanley Yelnats (had no idea who this was - a PP mentioned him). Drinking fourth cup of tea. DD has put the washing on and given me a long and detailed description of her night out last night.
I'm now off to meet my 93 year old mother from church, and we'll sit outside drinking coffee if it's warm enough. Then walk to Sainsbury's with her, and do my shopping before we part company and walk to our respective homes. I've no idea about this afternoon but it will include friends and cake, I hope.

Vampirethriller · 27/02/2022 10:31

We've been up since 5 because DD3 decided this was a reasonable time to make a den in my bed. We've walked the dog, I've done laundry, made a corned beef pie, now I'm having a Lidl gingerbread latte thing and playing on here until I can face vacuuming and doing some of my Davina DVD.
Then this afternoon we'll go to the allotment and have a little bonfire.

FfsKaren · 27/02/2022 10:34

Had a nice lazy morning in bed with cuddles from dc ♥️
Surprised that I've avoided a hangover after going out last night so pleased with that.
Going to see a friend early afternoon for coffee and playdate. Then it's the big football match we'll be cheering on Liverpool.
Then bathtimes, sorting school stuff, ironing, logging onto work to look at week ahead.

ssd · 27/02/2022 10:35

Love these threads

Im sitting watching tv, contemplating a cuppa

gingercat02 · 27/02/2022 10:44

Getting sorted for school and work tomorrow. DS banged his little toe on his door frame last night so football is off. Might persuade everyone to do some gardening instead.
DH and I are out for dinner tonight. Pizza for DS and DGM

StrongerOrWeaker · 27/02/2022 11:10

Yesterday was a busy day. We cleaned the house in the morning, had friends over for lunch, playdate in pm and theatre at night.
Today I took kids to the seafront as the weather is gorgeous. Husband preparing roast chicken and will take DC to in-laws this pm so I will go for a long run followed by a bath.

AliDran · 27/02/2022 11:21

I was woken st 4.30 by one twin crying as she had just been sick in her bed and in her thick, down to her bum hair. By the time she was showered dressed, lying on the sofa and all bedding in the washer, her twin sister came down to be sick 😫 Looks like a sofa day for us

MrsPatrickDempsey · 27/02/2022 11:23

I am going to give blood for the 42 time and off to have a browse to spend a birthday gift voucher.

BuddhaForMary · 27/02/2022 11:36

Had a nice sleep in today. Much needed. DC still in bed but awake messing on phones as I can hear TikTok.

It's a lovely sunny day, chilly but nice. The dogs have had a run around while I had my first coffee of the day, and I've pegged a line of washing out.

I'll get dressed in a bit, rouse the offspring and take them plus dogs to the woods for the last day of half term. I'm doing a slow roast pork today so I'll pop that in the oven first. Probably serve that with mash and a ton of veg, apple sauce and gravy. I fancy pudding but not sure what yet.

The house had a massive spring clean this week so when we get home I can chill and watch crappy telly while dinner cooks.

BigRedDuck · 27/02/2022 11:37

I've had a long lay in (thanks DH), DS came up to wake me up with cuddles.
My aunt has just been round for the third morning in a row after receiving more devastating news about her mother so I have spent the last two days organising flights and visas abroad for her and my uncle. Aunt brought me flowers which is a very kind thing to do.

Will be taking the DCs to a fun fair type event this afternoon to make DS run around in the fresh air for a few hours, and hope that that assists with the normal Sunday night frustration/burst of energy/violent meltdowns.

Also need to arrange a haircut and a girly day for me and DD next weekend. She puts up with DSs extra needs and the resulting routine/focus on DS very quietly and I am trying very hard to remember that.
Also need to arrange DSs taekwondo membership so he can start that this week.

DH will be pottering around the house/shed and cooking a Sunday dinner as normal. Smile

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 27/02/2022 11:39

Very hungover. I've changed the beds, done 2 loads of washing and sorted the kitchen out. Plan for the rest of the day is to eat chicken nuggets and chips for lunch, pick up my tesco delivery and then watch something comforting.

BigRedDuck · 27/02/2022 11:39

Oh and THE LAUNDRY. Where does it all come from!!!!

Xiaoxiong · 27/02/2022 11:49

Laundry.
Do tax return on the last possible day (yay procrastination!)
Dog walk.
Brunch.
Sort out kids too-small clothes and uniforms.
Music practice with kids (and I'm practicing too, I have pulled out my cello I haven't touched in 18 years!)
More laundry.
Hopefully a lovely walk in the sunshine ☀️
More laundry.
Do a barre fitness video for an hour.
Make chicken soup with dill for supper and try not to read the news.
Pack bags and sports kit for the morning.

cptartapp · 27/02/2022 11:53

DH and I are both full of a cold. Have managed to tidy the garden after the storms, sun is out but a cold wind.
Need to finish choosing bathroom accessories (new bathrooms this week, exciting), maybe a walk and roast beef for tea.
DS2 is catching up on homework.

Chelsea26 · 27/02/2022 11:55

I made a cooked breakfast for DP, DSD and DSS and now they’ve gone for a walk with the dog.

I’m trying to dry my hair and do my make up (have a broken collarbone so it’s tricky!) and then off to meet my brothers for cocktails before jumping on the tube to Wembley for the Cup Final!

Come on you Blues!

Starseeking · 27/02/2022 12:11

Went to church earlier this morning, then treated myself to a full English at the best local cafe. A lovely lovely morning for me, as I don't get to do that often.

Got home and started writing a Board paper that I should have done weeks ago, but keep stopping to browse MN instead, so I can put it off that little bit longer.

I'll faff for a few more minutes then really blitz it to finally finish by 6pm, as the DC are due back from their Dad's then, and the Board paper deadline is tomorrow!

badlydrawnbear · 27/02/2022 12:40

We are going to my in-laws for dinner in a bit, then will come back and put DC to bed and make packed lunch for tomorrow and iron school uniform. I am looking forward to the peace and quiet of them being back at school tomorrow after half-term, but not to getting up early, ironing shirts and making packed lunches again.

Garfieldismyspiritanimal · 27/02/2022 13:04

Work trip tomorrow so pottered around this morning packing for that. I made pancakes for breakfast, and had lovely coffee. Whole family did a cleaning hour to get ready for next week, we sorted DS book day costume for Tuesday. Had another coffee and a long phone call with a friend, kids now happily playing Minecraft together. In an hour a friend is coming round and we are all going for a walk.
This evening I am having a call with another friend, lasagne for tea, and a nice bath.
Staying away from the news a bit.

miltonj · 27/02/2022 13:17

Went for a long walk with husband and daughter this morning, stopped in a cafe for coffee and dd had a croissant. Went to the fair ground and then the park. Walked back through town and got kebabs to eat at home. Husband working from home now. Daughters been playing in her cot while I do some tidying and washing. Now we're just chilling together. Don't know what we'll do for the rest of the day.
