Try Semantle.

It's like Wordle in that you need to guess the word of the day, but works by semantics. So you input a word and it will tell you how close you are. You have infinite guesses.

For example, ysterday's word was 'costly' with expensive, cumbersome and burdensome being the three closest words.

I'm currently 840 words away with a similarity of 47%. I started at under 2%.

Anybody else attempting it?

Im still stuck on 988. I can't think of any other words related! Argh. I'm trapped under my poorly sleeping dd so got a bit more time to guess 😂

Ooh, I just found this thread and Semantle, and have got today's word in 36 which I think may be beginner's luck. My first guess was 22.67, I still don't really understand what the numbers mean - some of my guesses were minus numbers - so I am going to read back through this thread to try to find out!

I solved Semantle #32 in 53 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 7.55. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #16. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 46.70 (856/1000). semantle.novalis.org/

39 guesses in and I just got my 1st green word with a similarity of 44.88. But that's just stumped me even more! This is a great game, and such an amazing distraction - I won't start playing it till after work next time!

I'm on over 150 guesses today, not one green! Can someone give me a hint please?

I don't know how but I found it in 64! My penultimate word was 22.25 but it just suddenly clicked. I think the advice to start big then narrow it down really helped. Thanks!

I got a word with a closeness of 954/1000 but had to give up in the end. The closest word I had was just so specific I couldn't think of anything else.

Also pro-tip: one word I guessed in the singular, was a much closer word in the plural. I didn't think plurality would make much difference but apparently it does!

Anyway, fun game! Hopefully tomorrow I'll get it.
