Yes I let myself Google synonyms because it was 9.30pm and I didn't want to lose :o I don't think it's really bad, I did find the similar words myself, I was just running out of ideas.
It took me 298 guesses today. I'm totally addicted to this game now though, love things like this.
It reminds me of a game you can do in person on a long car journey etc. I can't remember the name but it goes like this.
Player 1 picks a secret word. In this example the word is egg.
Player 2, 3, 4 etc (any number of players) make a guess. Let's say they guess grass.
Player 1 has to think of a similarity between the word and the guess, as a clue.
So they say My word is not grass, but like grass, it's part of the natural world.
Player 2 guesses another word - tree.
Player 1 decides whether tree or grass is closer to egg. Then they have to think of a similarity for the less similar thing. So I think grass is closer (more close in size). Then they say my word is more like grass than tree, but like a tree, part of it is sometimes edible.
And so on and so on with more words until the correct one is guessed, always with the format "My word is more like X than Y, but like Y, it...." I think it's just nouns actually. For the comparisons, it's winner stays on for the closest word.
