Try Semantle.

It's like Wordle in that you need to guess the word of the day, but works by semantics. So you input a word and it will tell you how close you are. You have infinite guesses.

For example, ysterday's word was 'costly' with expensive, cumbersome and burdensome being the three closest words.

I'm currently 840 words away with a similarity of 47%. I started at under 2%.

Anybody else attempting it?

I'm trying to do this! I have a word with a similarlity of 27.06 and 535/1000, what does this actually mean??

It means there are 465 words that are closer in meaning than your guess. But it could be related in some way.

@Hasselhoffsheadband - I'd say so, or pm people if too obvious. But as long as you don't mention any words themselves then it's not going to spoil it for others.

I found today’s word difficult. 116 attempts before I got it and even the words in the 800s were no help to me!

@Bytrgrewd do you want to screenshot your top numbers and we’ll tell you which ones to focus on? (Just the numbers, not the words.) Although, disclaimer, I’m not 100% sure if that’s helpful as sometimes having a random word helps you hurt the answer because you have to think around it so much.

Can’t improve on 963. 115 guesses now. It’s impossible!

I solved Semantle #30 in 137 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 15.40. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #28. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 33.70. semantle.novalis.org/

Stuck on 963 also!

I think we are all getting to 963 due to the current news. I finally got the word in 166 guesses. I just entered a suitable word I heard on the TV! Not really something you'd get from 963!
