Anyone finding the tone of this really quite terrifying...

I’m not one to get myself in a tizz over sensationalised news but this is starting to feel very different!

It's not a pointless comment.

Corybn was a hair's breadth from becoming our pm.rhe Man who stands there accusing us And NATO for being aggressors!!

All political parties need too be transparent about donar

jgw1 · 24/02/2022 20:06

@derxa is that because Boris owes his position to the funding provided by those linked to the Russian president, whereas Corbyn was if nothing else capable of independent thought?

You would rather have someone as Prime Minister who was paid for by those linked to a dictator who has just invaded a democratic country than someone else?

The mind boggles.

@Bunnyfuller

God, doesn’t Boris love a sound bite opportunity.

We’ve passed the point where sanctions will work, they should’ve gone hard when they started bombing Georgia in 2007, or even annexing Crimea in 2014. Instead we allowed Putin and his gang to donate to the Tory party and push the Brexit agenda - weakened uk, weakened Europe…

Led by donkeys. Rich, over-privileged donkeys whose thirst for more wealth has contributed to this nightmare we now all face.

This is it. Putin is already in bed with at least two major (anglo) western leaders and this is has been his goal all along: divide and conquer.

But people didn't really catch on, when they voted to leave the EU.

Did they think Divide & Conquer at the ballot box? Most of them had never even heard the term.

EDUCATION FOR THE MASSES, PLEASE.

Tigersonvaseline · 24/02/2022 20:09

Corybn is the last man capable of independent thought ! He's absolutely brainwashed and extreme in his views just like anyone in any cult.

Notonthestairs · 24/02/2022 20:10

Oh good grief. A hairs breath 🙄 Corbyn isn't Labour leader and isn't PM. Stand down.

And maybe set those worried eyes on the Conservatives funding.

Corbyn might be a prick but Boris and pals are in the pockets of oligarchs.

cakeorwine · 24/02/2022 20:11

Choosing between Johnson and Corbyn at a time like this is like choosing between a rock and a hard place. Neither are the options I would like to have.

However - we have Johnson. God help us.

Tigersonvaseline · 24/02/2022 20:12

But Corybn wanted Brexit? Was Putin funding him also and McDonnell?

Abhannmor · 24/02/2022 20:13

Putin ...the favourite world leader of Nigel Farage. Why not I guess , after all he helped out with Trump and Brexit. They all want to wreck Europe. Careful what you wish for eh.

Tigersonvaseline · 24/02/2022 20:15

I'm finding it amusing how some posters are trying to shoe horn Brexit into this?

Putin invading Ukraine is because of BrexitGrin
How?

The UK is a small teeny country with no real clout or weight in the world at all.
We are like scrappy do.

Let me at 'em.

We are a minow compared with the might and wealth of the USA And EU.

sisuwasabellend · 24/02/2022 20:15

@Tigersonvaseline

Not for the same reasons though. There is leftist argument for Brexit. But this was not what was pursued here, or by Putin. Ah. And no. Putin is not a leftist leader.
Reluctantadult · 24/02/2022 20:15

What has Corbyn even got to do with it, fgs!!!!

@Tigersonvaseline I am pleased to see that you are not denying that Boris is paid for by Russia.
DinnoWoman · 24/02/2022 20:16

Boris wouldn't even be PM if it weren't for the Russians. They bought the fucker years ago.

Tigersonvaseline · 24/02/2022 20:16

Hold on Corybn And Farage wanted Brexit + today their views aligned again on NATO aggression?

jgw1 · 24/02/2022 20:17

@Reluctantadult

It is the resort of those who can't help but support Boris Johnsonov but have no coherent argument to present.

Of course this invasion is not directly because of Brexit. But we're talking about the bigger picture here. Who owns the power. A weakened Europe plays into the hand of people like Putin.
jgw1 · 24/02/2022 20:18

@DinnoWoman

I'm not sure anyone is denying that. But some seem to not see this as a problem, because but Jeremy Corbyn and also Keir had a beer.

I think you're looking at things very literally.

You must be dim if you can’t see how Brexit played into Russia’s hands.

@Reluctantadult

Well, according to MN he is responsible for everything bad. Too scared to answer the door? - Corbyn's fault Have to heat house to 24 degrees because you can't stand sleeves - Corbyn's fault Need to invade Ukraine - Corbyn's fault 161k die of Covid - Corbyn's fault Get your mistress pregnant - Corbyn's fault
Tigersonvaseline · 24/02/2022 20:20

Yes but EU hasn't been weakened by Brexit at all.
The EU is massive.
My wider picture takes in a little more then trying to shoe horn Brexit into absolutely everything.

I'm more interested right now in what Imran khan was doing with Putin today?

Notonthestairs · 24/02/2022 20:20

Every division of the EU (worlds largest trading bloc) and between NATO allies plays in to Putin's hands.

Tigersonvaseline · 24/02/2022 20:22

Have I missed something? Has the EU Said " we can't respond because of Brexit," has the EU response been criticised And blamed on Brexit??

Tigersonvaseline · 24/02/2022 20:23

Oh so NATO is also divided now?
