Does anyone fancy a thread for suggesting great podcasts? I get through so many so would love a few recommendations. I'll start!

Parenting Hell
Josh widdicombe and rob beckett interview celebrity guest and tell hilarious stories of parenting. Very lighthearted and good fun.

Jaackmaate
I love the episodes where he is interviewing guests, my favourite has to be the episode with ex undercover police officer Peter Blexsley really interesting stuff! He also does episodes just chatting with his mates which don't really interest me but that's just me.

British Scandal
Alice Lavine and Matt Forde retell historical events that caused chaos. Including the coughing major who cheated on millionaire and the story of John Darwin who faked his own death with the help of his wife.

Does anyone want to add any suggestions?! Grin

The Great Post Office Scandal
This has been reported in the news recently but the podcast is really worth listening to. Unbelievable that it could have been allowed to happen

Long form conversations about health with Dr Rangan Chatterjee and guests.

Weekly podcast of major historical moments like Pompeii, JFK assassination, Gun Powder Plot, Bonnie and Clyde, Black Death etc.

The History of English Podcast
Impressive amateur Kevin Stroud explores the history of the English language. I like the way it combines words with history and culture. It's very repetitive, so great background listening.

Beckidewinter · 23/02/2022 21:14

'The Coming Storm' from the BBC... all about Q Anon. It's riveting!

Rina66 · 23/02/2022 21:15

I love podcasts too, my favourites are:-

Alan Carr - Life's a beach
Gabby Logan - Midpoint
Russell Kane - Evil Genius
Fi & Jane - Fortunately
Desert Island Discs

Bloatstoat · 23/02/2022 21:19

Tim Hartford - Cautionary Tales - it's a really interesting look at events that have happened looking at the psychology of why they did and lessons we can learn from them.

GorgonzolaSouffle · 23/02/2022 21:23

Shagged Married Annoyed with Chris and Rosie Ramsey

Hilarious

I love Tim Harford. More or Less is another favourite here.
StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 23/02/2022 21:29

Theres a podcasr topic under film & tv. Lots and lots of recommendations there.

ladyinthecampervan · 23/02/2022 21:33

Another Tim Harford fan here.

I'd also recommend the Louis Theroux Grounded series and The Curious Cases of Rutherford and Fry (scientific answers to life's ordinary questions)

Off to browse the podcast topic for more inspiration.

sleeveho · 23/02/2022 21:34

Im loving Smartless with Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Annet, easy funny listening.
My favourites that I go back and listen again to are S Town, and Serial - the first season.
Louis Theroux podcasts during lockdown were fab too.

LaWench · 23/02/2022 21:36

Three bean salad. I love this, rambling nonsense with Mike Wozniak and mates. Very clever and silly humour.

Off Menu. This always cheers me up, there's been some fantastic guests.

LaWench · 23/02/2022 21:37

Smartless is great too.

SilverSplitsTheBlue · 23/02/2022 21:38

My absolute favourite is The Evidence Locker. The guy has a beautiful creamy soothing american accent.

StopForAMinute · 23/02/2022 21:39

I like Redhanded which is true crimes stories.

Soul11Soul · 23/02/2022 21:40

Mysteries of the Unexplained. Little stories about the paranormal but the hosts are two sweary, hilarious Irish best pals and it's like sitting in the pub with your pals. All very tongue in cheek.

WildImaginings · 23/02/2022 21:46

Redhanded
British Scandal
I like a lot of the BBC podcasts about a particular story: Fake Heiress, the missing crypto queen, George gibney.

I also loved series one of 'The Storyteller' by Isla Traquair. A true crime story I had never heard of; which is unbelievable really, given the subject and the outcome.

I'll come back when I remember more, I have listened to A LOT of podcasts!

AugustinaGloop · 23/02/2022 21:47

Americast (bbc, seasonal/topical US elections/impeachments going on)

Sadik · 23/02/2022 21:53

I really enjoyed The Tip off (in fact this has reminded me to listen to recent episodes)

Also Farm Small Farm Smart, but that's a bit niche!

mrsjg · 23/02/2022 21:55

Always looking for new podcasts to listen too. Will try some of these recommendations 😁

fortyfourfeasts · 23/02/2022 21:55

I loved the Missing Crypto Queen, Wind of Change, Things Fell Apart, the New Conspiracist and am currently on Death by Conspiracy. Can you tell I love a good conspiracy story?! All great for the stories around them.

JunkIsland · 23/02/2022 22:01

Frank Skinner’s Poetry Podcast - he makes me love poetry I’d never have thought I was interested in. It’s real feel-good stuff too.
