Does anyone fancy a thread for suggesting great podcasts? I get through so many so would love a few recommendations. I'll start!

Parenting Hell
Josh widdicombe and rob beckett interview celebrity guest and tell hilarious stories of parenting. Very lighthearted and good fun.

Jaackmaate
I love the episodes where he is interviewing guests, my favourite has to be the episode with ex undercover police officer Peter Blexsley really interesting stuff! He also does episodes just chatting with his mates which don't really interest me but that's just me.

British Scandal
Alice Lavine and Matt Forde retell historical events that caused chaos. Including the coughing major who cheated on millionaire and the story of John Darwin who faked his own death with the help of his wife.

Does anyone want to add any suggestions?! Grin

The Wolf and Owl podcast- Romesh Ranganathan and Tom Davis. They do a weekly podcast where they just get together, talk crap (although sometimes have deep conversations) and it's hilarious.

I also love Parenting Hell, Distraction Pieces with Scroobious Pip, the Adam Buxton podcast and I've just started listening to Richard Herring's one. Off Menu is also really good.

The Truth- a massive back catalogue of short stories with twists at the end. Each story about 20 mins long, perfect for my commute.

Eat Hustle- stories from an American prison

YoureBreakingMyHeartCecilia · 23/02/2022 22:20

So relieved someone has mentioned Adam Buxton, I was feeling very alone in my adoration of his podcast. He’s hands down my favourite. I’ve even started stalking other podcasts he appears on as a guest just to get my Adam Buxton fix! Confused

Conan O’Brien has a great podcast with some incredible guests, just long in-depth chats and he’s one of the naturally funniest interviewers I’ve ever heard. I quite like SmartLess too.

Winds of Change by Patrick Radden Keefe (discovered him thru the Adam Buxton podcast) is one of the best entertainment experiences I’ve ever had. Everyone I know gets hooked on this one to the point they can’t do anything else until they’ve got to the end. 8 episodes, v highly produced, documentary style, all about a mystery involving the CIA and a famous pop song.

Louis Theroux ones were great, wish there were more.

Some really interesting reccs on this thread that I’m going to try, I need a new podcast (until Adam Buxton comes back from his annual hiatus!)

YoureBreakingMyHeartCecilia · 23/02/2022 22:22

I’ve re read my post and realise I sound like I have some kind of Adam Buxton fixation… Grin I don’t, honest…!

He is really good though!

No Such Thing As A Fish
Focussing on a few obscure facts each episode. Really funny and informative. From the researchers of QI.

cameocat · 23/02/2022 22:41

For crime, In the Dark. The first one covers a child murder so if not for you go to second series, very eye opening about the American justice system.

I love Casefile. Really thorough true crime investigations. I'm hooked.

Manzana · 23/02/2022 23:09

You're Dead to Me, BBC Sounds, a comic historical podcast.
Go Wild, also BBC sounds, nature documentaries
Wilderness Tracks from the Timber festival, interviews with different people and their music choices

SpiceRat · 23/02/2022 23:13

Comedy / Satire are my main podcasts.

Three Bean Salad as mentioned above.
St Elwick’s Neighbourhood Association Newsletter Podcast and The Beef and Dairy Network Podcast are both brilliant buy the same group they do the Three Bean Salad podcasts. They fall under satire but are very very funny, just be prepared for the weirdness.

The Froth, with Rhod Gilbert and his wife Asian Harris. Not had new episodes for a while though which is sad. I hope they make more.

The Horne Section Podcast if you like musical comedy.

The Office Ladies if you’re a fan of the American office, it’s brilliant and lots of bts info.

SpiceRat · 23/02/2022 23:14

Sian Harris not Asian Harris Blush

Shuffleuplove · 23/02/2022 23:15
