What is my eye colour?

So all my life I've always said I've got green eyes.
My partner recently said well there brown not green. We got into a debate and he said actually they're greeny brown.

But there's only a small amount of brown the most colour is green. Wouldn't you just class then as green?

I would like to have clarification please from MNters?

Mine look hazel in the morning. If I am tired or upset they are bright green- so my evening colour is green.
One of my daughters, who has very very dark brown eyes,says she wished she had my colour but I think hers are stunning.
My optician explained the mechanics of it to me once but I can’t remember 😂

Mine are like yours and I always say hazel - my dp would say they're brown though coz he's colourblind!

My son has beautiful brown chocolate eyes which he has from his dad for sure.

True, so are mine but they are very green and no brown in them at all,. True green eyes haven't brown in them at all,Hazel eyes are a very pretty mix of colours

More green than Hazel imo. My eyes are blue and still have brown around the iris.

I think that's referred to as central hetrochromia. I have it. My eyes are obviously green with a Hazel flash/star around the iris.

Mila kunis has total hereochromia where both eyes are completely different colours.

Brown or hazel. I can see at a casual glance you might just notice brown, though.

Mine are green with amber around the middle but I think green/hazel type eyes are the hardest to tell as they change so much with lighting!

Hazel brown. Too much brown to be green if you se what I mean. They are lovely, However you describe them.

If they change with lighting they are Hazel, green eyes stay green in all light, Hazel eyes are more dynamic.

Mine are hazel, 3 bands - brown then green then blue. Apparently very unusual the optometrist told me 🤷🏽‍♀️

They look darker in a not so bright setting.
If I'm in the sun they look like the photo as that was taken with flash on

I'd say they were hazel
