What would you use them for?

It looks like we may be in this situation someday soon due to a change of circumstances. What would you use these rooms for in an ideal world?

Walk in wardrobe / laundry room, office and spare bedroom.

SpaghettiArmsMurderer · 19/02/2022 18:28

Home office/library combo (we have this IRL, with a sofa bed), music room and spare bedroom

FourChimneys · 19/02/2022 18:29

Four spare bedrooms here. Each one has a bed so can be used by family and other guests. One doubles as an office, one as a laundry sorting/ironing room, one as an extra sitting room /library and one is just a bedroom.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 19/02/2022 18:30

Sewing craft writing room for me. Music room library for him. Spare room with fitted wardrobes.
Who am I kidding, they would be filled with junk in a heartbeat.

KatherineJaneway · 19/02/2022 18:32

Bedroom 1: Office
Bedroom 2: Storage for clothes and personal items
Bedroom 3: Spare room for guests

hugoagogo · 19/02/2022 18:32

I wouldn't know what to do. In fact I think I would prefer to move, no point having extra rooms to clean and fill up with junk.

hiraffe · 19/02/2022 18:33

gym
office
walk in wardrobe/storage

hiraffe · 19/02/2022 18:34

One is a laundry and gift/wrapping room

are you only allowed to wrap in that room?

MunchyMonsters · 19/02/2022 18:38

I've only 2 spare rooms.
1 is my office come library.
2 is my craft come spare bed room.

If I had a third I'd probably use it all as storage

Jaxhog · 19/02/2022 18:40

We have 2 studies/offices - one each. The other spare room is an occasional bedroom and storeroom.

cjpark · 19/02/2022 18:45

We have one as a guest and then have my study and dh study.

Edinvillian · 19/02/2022 18:49

We have an ironing room, second lounge/office and a craft room which also doubles as a guest bedroom.

bringonsummer2022 · 19/02/2022 18:53

We have three spare rooms. One is made up as a guest room. One is a home office. The other is supposed to be a bit of a reading nook that we envisage the kids using more as they get older but currently it's a bit of a dumping ground. At some point we will replace the sofa in there with a bed settee so it could be more useful as a guest room.
We have an outbuilding that we kind of fight over for gym and wood work but neither of those seem like indoor activities to us.

MajorCarolDanvers · 19/02/2022 19:06

We have a guest room, garden room and study.

If I'd another 3 then I have a gym, cinema and room to just dump things in.

CheesecakeAddict · 19/02/2022 19:09

We have this at the moment. The box bedroom is currently a dumping ground but aim to convert it into a dressing room. The medium room is a hobby room with my books and instruments. Me and DD took a medium bedroom each and the biggest bedroom is a spare room and office.

mariotime · 19/02/2022 19:10

If I had an office already then guest room, dressing room and craft room. If I had to have an office too then that would have the share with the craft room.

TabithaTittlemouse · 19/02/2022 19:11

We have one for guests and one as a snug. If we had a third it would be a craft room.

I like to keep one guest room ready to go, which is but a dream these days. 2nd is my happy dressing room, comfy reading nook included. there is a day need with a trundle if needed. Our downstairs level also has DH's office and a comfy den/TV room which can be used for guests - the giant modular couch can be configured into a king sized bed. So comfy!

I dream of the day all of these are full of people I love!

Asdf12345 · 19/02/2022 19:27

We have an office each and a dog training room.

Helpthishouseworkhater · 19/02/2022 19:29

So jealous can I move in with someone?

Everydaydayisaschoolday · 19/02/2022 19:32

We do have three spare bedrooms now D.C. have left home. One has become my de facto bedroom so I no longer have to listen to DP snore al night. It's bliss. I have nice pink bedding and I can sleep with the window open. For forms sake it is still referred to as the spare room but it's my room really.

The other two rooms are still pretty much as the DC left them so they have somewhere to sleep when they visit or other guests stay over We already have a study/workroom each so there is no pressing need to change them.

BaggingTheWainwrights · 19/02/2022 19:34

We have 3 spare rooms (soon to be 4 spare rooms).

1 is a study / reading room.
2 is a spare room / dressing room / laundry drying room
3 is a guest bedroom.

hellololabells2019 · 19/02/2022 19:34

I'd look into fostering

tappitytaptap · 19/02/2022 19:35

We have 4 spares (2 singles 2 doubles). An office each as we do hybrid working, a guest room and a dumping ground/laundry room.
