What would you use them for?

It looks like we may be in this situation someday soon due to a change of circumstances. What would you use these rooms for in an ideal world?

We have 3 spare rooms
1 is a guest room
1 is a guest room with a cot which dd's dolls sleep in.
1 is used as a linen cupboard/towels/spare duvets.

emmathedilemma · 19/02/2022 17:19

One for a home office and 2 for guests because I live hours from friends and family and the kids are getting too big to squeeze on air beds in my one spare room / office!

SockFluffInTheBath · 19/02/2022 17:19

Spare bedroom, music room and a gym room.

CheesePlantMurderer · 19/02/2022 17:21

I have a laundry room, a dressing room and a spare bedroom/ exercise room.

Twattergy · 19/02/2022 17:21

In ours it's guest bedroom, office no.2 (also have one downstairs) and a little snug/guest bed with a single sofa bed, that I sometimes do work calls from to mix things up from my office.

bigbluebus · 19/02/2022 17:22

We have 3 spare bedrooms (it was 4 but DS came back home). One is an office (plus a single bed), the other 2 are guest rooms but haven't been used much in the last 2 years thanks to Covid, so they have the heating turned off and the doors shut.

We also have a spare room downstairs which was a playroom then a 2nd (teen) sitting room in its day. Now it's used as a gym.

DaphneduM · 19/02/2022 17:22

The largest one -master bedroom somehow seems to have ended up as my husband's hobby room - he's building (competing with Rod Stewart) a large railway.

We've converted one into a dressing room for me.

The other is a double bedroom which at present is being used for our darling toddler grandson's occasional visit.

TroysMammy · 19/02/2022 17:25

Craft room, guest or escape from a snoring partner room and the last one for my dolls house and other miniature buildings and the room to add more.

LemonViolet · 19/02/2022 17:26

gogohm · 19/02/2022 17:29

Downstairs (small double) is set up as a study, master is middle floor and top two are guest rooms though often occupied by university aged DD's currently (one may be gone fairly soon as graduates this year)

Twospaniels · 19/02/2022 17:31

1 is a dumping room which is awaiting being sorted, one day ……

The other 2 are guest rooms

We already have a study downstairs for husband and on the days I work from home I use the dining room.

AuntieStella · 19/02/2022 17:31

I'd have a library/study, a workout room (treadmill, rowing machine, floor space, big screen to follow vids) and I'm really not sure after that - probably guest room / overspill wardrobe

HerkyBaby · 19/02/2022 17:31

Wrapping presents room
Ironing room
Craft room

Heytheredemons · 19/02/2022 17:32

I use one as a snuggery, one as an office and one made up as a guest room.

ReflectiveJournal · 19/02/2022 17:32

Top of the list would be a laundry/ironing room. We used to live in a cheap area and had a huge house with lots of rooms. DH misses the music room, and I miss the ironing room.

Feministwoman · 19/02/2022 17:32

We have this.
Large study/library/craft room (has both mine and DH office space in, plus lots of tables, storage and two walls of books)
Guest bedroom, with yet more bookshelves.
Upstairs sitting room with TV, more books, comfy sofa, (used to be a play room)

Downstairs has a large utility room, which doubles as a soap/lotion/balm/candle making room with storage for supplies, dedicated craft cooker and utensils.

Dining room has my sewing machine, serger, quilting table etc, set up along with sewing supplies, fabrics and related books. Plus ironing stuff if needed.
(These can be packed away into dedicated storage when we need to use the dining room)

3peassuit · 19/02/2022 17:32

Walk in wardrobe, reading room, office and guest room.

Luredbyapomegranate · 19/02/2022 17:34

One study (with a day bed for extra guests)
One exercise / meditation
One spare room (with ironing board in it when guests not there)

godmum56 · 19/02/2022 17:35

one is my craft room, one is a permanent home away from home bedroom for my sibling who visits a lot, one is where my tortoises live early spring and autumn when its too cold for them to be outside and they aren't hibernating. Its also got a bed in it in case of an extra visitor.

Photolass · 19/02/2022 17:36

I would use one as an office, one as a craft room and one as a guest bedroom.

GinIronic · 19/02/2022 17:36

We have this - one as an office for me, one as a dressing room for me and one as an office for DH.

Fruitlesscalisthenics · 19/02/2022 17:36

One office.

One ironing/sewing room.

One spare room.
