As the other thread is filling up and things are just starting to get real. Here's the next instalment.

I love following the Learjets and dreaming. LOL

GreenWords · 18/02/2022 19:52

It’s calmed down in leeds now - so was hoping that some flights would land. Just watching the Malaga flight which was meant to land at 4-15 this pm.

QueenOfThorns · 18/02/2022 21:20

It’s looking awful in Hamburg at the moment, flight after flight is just giving up. I think one from Amsterdam had three goes and is now off back where it started Sad

liveforsummer · 18/02/2022 21:22

Ooh so the storm has just moved on rather than burned out?!

QueenOfThorns · 18/02/2022 21:33

Definitely, they’ve been struggling in Amsterdam too. An Air France from CDG just aborted at Hamburg, flew south and tried Hannover, but aborted there too. Those people must be so frightened.

roarfeckingroarr · 18/02/2022 21:34

Why is everyone following planes into Hamburg tonight?

QueenOfThorns · 18/02/2022 21:37

@roarfeckingroarr

Why is everyone following planes into Hamburg tonight?
Because they’re all going Pete Tong?

Lisbon flight has landed

liveforsummer · 18/02/2022 21:47

@roarfeckingroarr

Why is everyone following planes into Hamburg tonight?
Because UK has resumed normal service pretty much

We've done well to get to nearly 1500 posts before someone came along and questioned our motives though Grin

Just popped back on to see if our re-route Oslo plane was anywhere on the ground yet. Think it's due to take off 10pm but not sure if that was UK time.

Now nosing over German airspace too!

QueenOfThorns · 18/02/2022 21:54

In that case, I’m one too (I didn’t say anything though) Grin

Haha, indeed! I'll look wherever there's something interesting happening.

I'm surprised things are more settled at UK airports now. It's just getting wilder here in Southport.

I've just realised who the chap's voice reminds me of:
It's the commentator in Robot Wars-the bit where he goes "there goes my bonus!"

LovePoppy · 18/02/2022 21:55

@QueenOfThorns happy to take this one for the team

QueenOfThorns · 18/02/2022 22:00

Some poor buggers have just had a 2 hour trip from Amsterdam to Hamburg and back. Although they’re probably just grateful to be back on the ground at this point.

Maerchentante · 18/02/2022 22:22

Just having a nosy over German airspace, not much going on now, but there's an EasyJet going from Berlin to Luton that was supposed to leave at 17:00 and finally left at 22:58, scheduled to get into Luton at 23:38.

I think Berlin, Frankfurt and Cologne are the only two airports open right now. Local night flight laws in Germany can be very strict and airports have to stick to their schedules.

ISmellBurnings · 18/02/2022 22:25

London to Cairo that seems to have looped over Germany and returned!

DirtyDancing · 19/02/2022 08:37

Very excited to have found the re-routed to Oslo flight in Flight trader'sTwitter feed

What a crazy diversion, more so when you see it on the map like that 😆

OP posts:
ErrolTheDragon · 19/02/2022 09:13

I wonder if those people are on, or waiting for a flight back now? Someone said there was one from Oslo to stanstead which was perhaps why they went there (rather than an airport not served by Ryanair) but would it have room for a plane load?

liveforsummer · 19/02/2022 10:02

I suppose as I said before with the flight that was diverted to Dublin, the plane could have been destined for Oslo after stansted and they had new crew there, although I've no idea if Ryanair have a main base there like they do in Dublin.
