As the other thread is filling up and things are just starting to get real. Here's the next instalment.

There's also a Ryanair flight that was supposed to be landing at LBA from Lanzarote that's currently about 20 miles south of Leeds, it's pretty windy round here and LBA is well known for being a windy airport, being on high exposed ground, so even though we don't have the worst of the storm up here, it still can't land.

Michael O'Leary will be fuming today with all his planes going here there and everywhere like this.

saturdayhelicopter · 18/02/2022 15:17

Guessing Malaga Stansted is being diverted?
Bratislava to Leeds and Malta to Manchester also showing as rerouted to Edinburgh.

Spottybutterfly · 18/02/2022 15:18

What have you guys done to me, I've just wasted 4 hours watching youtube and the radar and don't plan on stopping until the OH gets in from work.

Planes around Stansted appear to be struggling.

Malbecfan · 18/02/2022 15:20

@CaveMum, Heathrow tweeted that they weren't switching today. The northern runway approach is more hairy due to the buildings (Jerry's "shed effect") so they want to keep it as simple as possible.

BarbaraofSeville · 18/02/2022 15:20

My mistake, it's turned around again and might be attempting an approach from the south.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 18/02/2022 15:20

Ok, now its getting windy in Manchester!

handslikecowstits · 18/02/2022 15:20

@DirtyDancing

I don't know. I'm guessing. Seems bonkers doesn't it? The tracker usually tells you when they've been diverted.

CaveMum · 18/02/2022 15:20

Marrakesh to Stanstead just aborted landing.

As @BarbaraofSeville says Michael O'Leary will NOT be a happy bunny. He's already pissed off enough about Tiger Roll this week!

CaveMum · 18/02/2022 15:21

@Malbecfan thank you!

MouseyMoose · 18/02/2022 15:22

Wind really picking up now just south of Leeds I'm not surprised they are struggling at LBA it's bad enough not in stormy weather!

BarbaraofSeville · 18/02/2022 15:23

If the line goes yellow and green again does that mean it's tried to land and is climbing again?

If yes, there's one from Marrakesh that's just changed it's mind about landing at Manchester.

liveforsummer · 18/02/2022 15:23

@BarbaraofSeville

I've just spotted that Malaga one. It's passed Manchester so must be going to Glasgow or somewhere now. That's after it circled round STN several times a while ago.
At that height I'd say it's headed for Scotland unless it turns around. The flight path to Edinburgh goes up the west sometimes too although they aren't landing from that direction today that they do when they come up that way

CDG to LBA looks unlikely at that height and distance to the airport!

saturdayhelicopter · 18/02/2022 15:24

And Lanzarote to LBA has missed again...

BarbaraofSeville · 18/02/2022 15:24

Cross posted with @CaveMum

You must be quite close to where I am @MouseyMoose.

blobby10 · 18/02/2022 15:24

Did anyone else see the CDG Paris to Luton flight this morning abort a landing at LTN twice then head back to Paris?! Bet those passengers were a tad annoyed Grin

CatsOperatingInGangs · 18/02/2022 15:25

Yep it's all going tits up in Manchester now.GVA -MAN is next to attempt to land

CatsOperatingInGangs · 18/02/2022 15:26

MrsWombat · 18/02/2022 15:29

@handslikecowstits

Hi folks, have been following this all day. Would love to know where FR4967 (the Lamezia Terme flight) is going! Presumably out to sea and then double backing on itself? ETA for it is now 15.52. Poor passengers.
It's currently heading towards Oslo with no sign of turning back to anywhere in the UK. Shock
DirtyDancing · 18/02/2022 15:30

@handslikecowstits @OliviaBond
I think it's heading to Oslo!

FleeceNavidadFromTheSheep · 18/02/2022 15:30

Assume the Ryanair will be landing in Scandinavia where there's a flight scheduled back to Stansted? Zero info about the diversion.

handslikecowstits · 18/02/2022 15:31

Yes, Oslo makes sense although I doubt it does to the passengers!

FavouriteMug · 18/02/2022 15:31

Marrakesh to Manchester looks vomit enduring, those poor passengers 🤢

squashyhat · 18/02/2022 15:32

Another Ryanair go round at STN (from Tenerife)

BarbaraofSeville · 18/02/2022 15:32

Ooh, there's a Ryanair from Barcelona currently doing laps of Colwyn Bay while not landing at Liverpool.
