Also pristine to London Luton is now heading back across the channel. Interesting

Thesearmsofmine · 18/02/2022 14:57

In in West Yorkshire and the wind has really picked up now so will be keeping an eye on Leeds Airport.

Losing height quite quickly? Maybe determined that this is the final attempt...
OliviaBond · 18/02/2022 14:58

@DirtyDancing I can't figure out where it's going

notimagain · 18/02/2022 14:58

@DirtyDancing

I can see the Knock flight I would be getting really worry about fuel! Lol

Why can some land first time and others are really struggling. Maybe a silly question, is it a mixture of experience/ training and luck on the weather?

Day like today with a gusty wind it’s mainly down to luck..

If the wind has dropped at the critical moment(s) just before touch down you’ll probably be OK, if OTOH you catch a gust that puts you outside the aircraft limits and/or maybe makes things unstable for a few seconds then you’ll end up with a go-around

liveforsummer · 18/02/2022 14:59

Still facing the wrong direction currently

DirtyDancing · 18/02/2022 15:01

@OliviaBond I really think it's give up landing here! Poor people on board

ISmellBurnings · 18/02/2022 15:04

Watching the Malaga one! It’s been everywhere!

DirtyDancing · 18/02/2022 15:05

Come on Malaga. It's literally got lines everywhere on the map!

timetochangeusername · 18/02/2022 15:05

Are BA pilots more highly trained ? Big jet live is a total marketing gift to them

ErrolTheDragon · 18/02/2022 15:06

@OliviaBond

Where is the SUF Lamezia Terme flight to stansted going? It's now heading off up the east coast
Fr4967 looks like it's headed towards Scandinavia.Confused though I suppose it could swing back in to Newcastle or one of the Scottish airports.
ISmellBurnings · 18/02/2022 15:06

It landed!

DirtyDancing · 18/02/2022 15:07

Malaga touch down. We need an interview with the passengers and pilot now

saturdayhelicopter · 18/02/2022 15:07

Bet those Malaga -EMA passengers are so happy to be on the ground!

Lovelyricepudding · 18/02/2022 15:07

@liveforsummer

Edinburgh Aberdeen is back on the tarmac in Edinburgh too
Aberdeen has snow not wind
liveforsummer · 18/02/2022 15:08

Malaga to ema is down, another Malaga flight to stansted passed over heading north while I was watching that. God knows where that's going but flights from Malaga drawing short straws today

OP posts:
liveforsummer · 18/02/2022 15:09

Aberdeen has snow not wind

I know we were supposed to have snow too but it hasn't materialised. ABZ usually able to cope with a bit of snow though so must be heavy there

saturdayhelicopter · 18/02/2022 15:10

Krakow-LBA looks determined!

liveforsummer · 18/02/2022 15:10

Malaga - STN nearly at Manchester and still at 30,000 ft

OP posts:
BarbaraofSeville · 18/02/2022 15:14

I've just spotted that Malaga one. It's passed Manchester so must be going to Glasgow or somewhere now. That's after it circled round STN several times a while ago.

CaveMum · 18/02/2022 15:15

I'm guessing they didn't switch runways at 3pm then!

handslikecowstits · 18/02/2022 15:15

Hi folks, have been following this all day. Would love to know where FR4967 (the Lamezia Terme flight) is going! Presumably out to sea and then double backing on itself? ETA for it is now 15.52. Poor passengers.

Why would it go so far out and not circle?
