Amsterdam to Manchester is just going round in circles.

Malbecfan · 18/02/2022 15:34

@FavouriteMug it's a B737Max. I think they have quite fast landing speeds anyway so this weather must be a nightmare.

BarbaraofSeville · 18/02/2022 15:34

@FavouriteMug

Marrakesh to Manchester looks vomit enduring, those poor passengers 🤢
What about the one that's been between Blackburn and Bolton about half a dozen times now? They won't know which way is up any more.

The Geneva one is down now though.

Spottybutterfly · 18/02/2022 15:35

This one for Leeds Bradford didn't even attempt a landing.

Lanzarote - LBA seems to have given up circling above West Yorkshire and now possibly heading to Teeside or Oslo.

FleeceNavidadFromTheSheep · 18/02/2022 15:37

@FleeceNavidadFromTheSheep

Assume the Ryanair will be landing in Scandinavia where there's a flight scheduled back to Stansted? Zero info about the diversion.
Bingo - 22.05 Ryanair - Oslo to Stansted !
FuglyHouse · 18/02/2022 15:37

The Ryanair flight from Marrakesh to Stansted seems to have given up and is heading north east.

Thedailyfailx · 18/02/2022 15:38

@timetochangeusername

Are BA pilots more highly trained ? Big jet live is a total marketing gift to them
I thought this too!
notimagain · 18/02/2022 15:38

@CaveMum

I'm guessing they didn't switch runways at 3pm then!
They were never ever going to switch runways at 3 PM given today’s wind, and won’t do so until the wind drops out drops or it veers around to being a proper westerly

Reason is strong southwesterly winds like we have today get churned up something rotten as they pass over Heathrow central area (The T1,T2, T3 complex).

Final approach to the right hand westerly heading runway, 27 right, takes you right through that churned up flow in the last two or three hundred feet…it can be bumpy/rough as hell and in itself can cause go-around…so Heathrow normally uses/stays on 27 Left when there’s a strong south westerly and the normal runway alteration programme gets ignored.

FleeceNavidadFromTheSheep · 18/02/2022 15:39

Party time at Oslo Grin

OliviaBond · 18/02/2022 15:40
**@handslikecowstits* @OliviaBond*
I think it's heading to Oslo!
Looks like it. That's quite a diversion!

BarbaraofSeville · 18/02/2022 15:41

Does anyone know why some planes are coming in and landing at Manchester while the AMS flight appears to have been circling round Bolton for hours? Fuel, something else?

handslikecowstits · 18/02/2022 15:41

@FleeceNavidadFromTheSheep

Get those herring in!

The passengers must be so pissed off and disorientated.

DirtyDancing · 18/02/2022 15:42

@FleeceNavidadFromTheSheep good detective work. They have to wait till 10pm to get back. Nightmare

handslikecowstits · 18/02/2022 15:42

Can you image the atmosphere in the cabin when the captain told them they were going to Oslo?!

BarbaraofSeville · 18/02/2022 15:44

BCN to LPL just had a failed landing attempt and back to Colwyn Bay for them.

FleeceNavidadFromTheSheep · 18/02/2022 15:45

Mmm, herring and aquavit, that'll be 500 krone please. You only have euro or pounds? No problem. How about some woolly socks too?

Lovelyricepudding · 18/02/2022 15:46

Kyiv to Stansted seems to be most of the way to Dublin

FleeceNavidadFromTheSheep · 18/02/2022 15:47

The Morrocans are heading the same direction!

FleeceNavidadFromTheSheep · 18/02/2022 15:49

Oslo confirmed for the Italian flight.

BarbaraofSeville · 18/02/2022 15:51

Lanzarote to LBA just missed Teeside too.

Tigersonvaseline · 18/02/2022 15:53

Where is the actual link please

BarbaraofSeville · 18/02/2022 15:53

I suppose we should also raise a glass to the air traffic controllers keeping tabs on all these planes going here there and everywhere that they don't normally.

CaveMum · 18/02/2022 15:54

@Tigersonvaseline link to the Heathrow arrivals stream here

All the others are on the Flightradar24 app.

handslikecowstits · 18/02/2022 15:55

The ATCs can have my aquavit. They need it.
