How do you know she has bailed him Out? Do you have inside knowledge?

greengraydoor · 16/02/2022 20:34

You’ve no ideas what’s going on or how he is paying.

Samcro · 16/02/2022 20:37

Who.?

Did he find £12 000 000 behind the sofa?
greengraydoor · 16/02/2022 20:42

Who knows is what I’m saying. The press had him selling a multi million pound ski chalet he owned in somewhere like Switzerland a few weeks ago.

None of us know where the money is coming from.

SpinningTheSeedsOfLove · 16/02/2022 20:44

It's a question that was raised by the BBC News at 6pm as the lead story, and it's pretty obvious that's what the OP is talking about here.

The prevailing assumption is that the sum is great that HMQ will need to contribute from the Duchy of Lancaster revenue, which goes to her alone as the landlord.

Ilostit · 16/02/2022 20:44

Oh we know ffs it’s coming from the Queen

OP posts:
PurpleDaisies · 16/02/2022 20:46

As long as it isn’t coming from the taxpayer.

He’s her son. I am no royalist and I can’t stand Andrew but surely it’s not that difficult to see a parent helping their child, no matter what they’ve done.

GirlInACountrySong · 16/02/2022 20:47

does it really matter?

Aquamarine1029 · 16/02/2022 20:48

Of course his mother is going to bail him out if needs be. A settlement benefits her and the rest of the family every bit as much as it does Andrew. There was no way they were going to allow this to get to a courtroom.

MrsTerryPratchett · 16/02/2022 20:50

I'd say that the Head of State paying off an accuser in a case about sexual offending is pretty serious.

I mean if they could prove it he could do time at Her Majesty's pleasure after all.

I don't hold with them all putting on and taking off the Royal hat whenever the mood takes them. Want to be a private citizen, be one.

TizerorFizz · 16/02/2022 20:50

Well at his age it’s pathetic! It’s utterly shameful.

Of course it’s shameful. His behaviour had been utterly shameful.
NoLongerTroels · 16/02/2022 21:12

He sold the ski chalet for something like 25 mil. So I'm sure he other things he could get money from besides his Mum.

Luredbyapomegranate · 16/02/2022 21:37

Well I’m sure she’s funding him to a degree, even if there are also dodgy deals. (No one has ever explained where the money to buy the chalet, or generally find his lifestyle, has come from.)

But of course she’d bail him out if needed. The Crown is the future of her family. Andrew has damaged that, she’s going to do what she can to minimise the damage.

You don't know that at all actually.
RunningFromInsanity · 16/02/2022 21:47

I’m pretty sure no matter what I did, my parents would pay the money to stop me going to jail.

She’s a mother at the end of the day.

Hopefullyoneday12 · 16/02/2022 21:47

I really hope she is not paying anything towards this. Absolutely shameful if she is. The less she has to do with him the better.
He is awful and should not be subsidised by HRH.

Will it be out in the open where the money came from? Freedom of information or something?

PurpleDaisies · 16/02/2022 21:49

The less she has to do with him the better.

She’s his mother. Yes he’s an arsehole. He’s still her son.

SpinningTheSeedsOfLove · 16/02/2022 23:09

I believe that the matter is to be raised in Parliament to determine whether or not public (taxpayers') money will be used, including any 'private' payments from the Royal Family that are in some way offset against tax.

Tangled web.

Nope sorry. She gets to be Head of State 24/7, she doesn't get this 'aw she's a mum' thing as well. They rely on being what they say they are when they say they are. Hereditary royalty is a total shit show for this exact reason. Any other Head of State would have resigned. So they could be just a mum.
TyrannosaurusRegina · 16/02/2022 23:21

@Ilostit

Well, we don't actually.
ItsDinah · 16/02/2022 23:37

We don't know how much is being paid. Giuffre settled for US $500,000 for her court case against Epstein which had to be worth a huge amount more than her claim against Andrew. The really costly part will be Andrew's legal costs which are estimated to be perhaps US $10,000,000. You can see why people in the US settle rather than defend themselves and be left with huge legal bills.

She has generally always put the State first so I will be shocked if she is bailing him out.

How? What he was alleged to have done wasn't a crime in the UK.
