would it be worse to be banned from your local tip or your local pub?

An answer that is age dependent I feel. For me from about the age of 25 - definitely the tip would have been worse.

Seriously? Grin

OrangeShark27 · 10/02/2022 14:03

Probably tip because it leaves you with no other options, pub there are other drinking options. But I think if I've managed to get banned from the tip it's unlikely I've displayed exemplary behaviour in the pub Grin

My MIL was banned from our local tip for stealing. GrinBlush

Tip, because tips are few and far apart. If I was banned from a pub I'd just go to another one.

JustJam4Tea · 10/02/2022 14:06

Based on a R2 snippet about someone being banned from their tip (something to do with a dog and a silver car).

Pub. To go to another means driving (or a 25 min walk to a pub that's not good for children) so not as convenient.
We have 3 tips within easy drive thankfully

takingmytimeonmyride · 10/02/2022 14:10

If I was banned from my local tip I'd go to the one in the next town that I'd prefer anyway.

I've never been in my local pub. I never want to go in my local pub. I don't even like walking past it, even though there's usually no one near it, it looks horrible and dingy and I'm not sure how it's still open.

So my answer is, I don't care either way! Grin

XiCi · 10/02/2022 14:14

How often do people go to the tip? I think I've been 2 or 3 times in my entire life. The pub on the other hand ......

Trainbear · 10/02/2022 14:16

I wondered what you had to do to be banned from a tip!

Waxonwaxoff0 · 10/02/2022 14:17

Pub for me and I'm 31. I've never been to the tip in my life.

fairylightsandwaxmelts · 10/02/2022 14:18

Tip.

If you're banned from a pub you can just go to any other pub in town, surely?

BigSandyBalls2015 · 10/02/2022 14:19

The pub! I rarely go to the tip, can't remember the last time, but our local pub is rather lovely with fabulous food and open fires ..... god I need to go soon!

naemates · 10/02/2022 14:22

I've kept my old driving licence purely to get into the tip near my old house because its much nicer than my local one Blush

BrinksmansEntry · 10/02/2022 14:27

Tip.
The whole town is scared of the man in charge of the tip. The power he wields is really concerning Grin

FlamingoDust · 10/02/2022 14:58

Tip

IWasHotInTheNineties · 10/02/2022 14:59

The tip is way more fun than the pub

SartresSoul · 10/02/2022 16:25

The tip. Never been to the local pub so that would be absolutely no loss.

Figgyboa · 10/02/2022 16:39

Pub! Never been to a tip in my life

girlmom21 · 10/02/2022 16:44

Tip. Our local ones great and the people who work there are lovely and so helpful,

DoINeedMoreWeetabix · 10/02/2022 16:46

What is R2 ?

For me, so often many of the staff know me by name.
PollyCreo · 10/02/2022 16:51

This is like one of those questions Maggie used to ask Andy on 'Extras' Grin

I've only been barred from one pub in my life. In my defence I was drinking on an empty stomach and fell asleep at the bar Blush

OrangeShark27 · 10/02/2022 16:52

My tip you have to show poof of address, can I just go to the one in the next town along?
If so that changes my answer. Not being able to go to the tip would be more devastating but if I can actually go I'd rather travel for the tip than the pub

LimitIsUp · 10/02/2022 16:54

@Figgyboa

Pub! Never been to a tip in my life
How do you get rid of large unwieldy items that won't fit in your black bin and wouldn't be wanted at charity shops?
HopefulProcrastinator · 10/02/2022 16:54

We only have 2 tips available to us so getting banned from the nearest one which is still a 30 minute drive away would be awful.

I'm indifferent about pubs, but even if I wasn't there's at least 6 I can name off the top of my head within less than 20 minutes walk.
