would it be worse to be banned from your local tip or your local pub?

An answer that is age dependent I feel. For me from about the age of 25 - definitely the tip would have been worse.

The pub definitely, don't go out very often but their restaurants the best in town. Only been to the tip once in 8 years so doubt id miss it.

catwithflowers · 10/02/2022 16:57

Without a doubt, being banned from the tip would be a nightmare. We must go there once a week 😳. Actually we are going there in 15 minutes after a garage clear out pre house move!

The pub, on the other hand ........ I much prefer drinking at home 🍷

MangosteenSoda · 10/02/2022 16:57

Tip definitely. Going to the tip is one of life’s great pleasures.

See also, hiring a skip.

Daenerys77 · 10/02/2022 17:05

I loathe crowds, drunks and noise, so would much rather go to the tip than a pub.

megletthesecond · 10/02/2022 17:06

Tip.

I've not been to a pub in over a decade. I love the tip.

southlondoner02 · 10/02/2022 17:08

Never been to a tip, so pub (early 40s if that's relevant)

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 10/02/2022 17:09

Pub. I'm 31. I don't drive so I hire a skip anyway

SisterRuth · 10/02/2022 17:10

Tip.

JuergenSchwarzwald · 10/02/2022 17:12

If a pub was in the habit of banning people it would either be really rough - or conversely really up itself - and neither would appeal to me anyway!

I think it would be more inconvenient to be banned from the local tip.

DuesToTheDirt · 10/02/2022 17:12

The tip. I find pubs boring TBH. Mind you, the tip is pretty boring too!

tabletopgreen · 10/02/2022 17:14

Oh my god I love going to the tip !

Local pub is good but there are others, there is only one tip

PickAChew · 10/02/2022 17:16

Definitely the tip. Haven't set foot in a pub for years.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 10/02/2022 17:20

In the 9 months we've lived in this house we've been to the tip about 30 times and the nearest pub zero times.

House/garden renovations, lack of childcare, the fact we entertain at home or go to friends houses...

In a few years when we can leave the children for a couple of hours, I'm sure the pub will become more prominent.

CMOTDibbler · 10/02/2022 17:23

The tip, by far. I've not ever been in a pub in the town where I live, and we've been here 14 years

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 10/02/2022 17:23

I'm nearly 44 and I'd say the pub. I don't drive though so never go to the tip

Saying that even if I did it would probably still be the pun

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 10/02/2022 17:23

Pub

IglesiasPiggl · 10/02/2022 17:27

The tip definitely. Drinking at home is far preferable to sitting on a pile of unwanted junk in the kitchen!

FourChimneys · 10/02/2022 17:31

Tip.
I go about three or four times a year whereas I haven't been to a pub since 2016 and that was a one off.

MockneyReject · 10/02/2022 17:32

This thread has really tickled me! I never realised just how big a deal the tip is - until I contemplated being banned! And I'm clearly not alone.
It took me under 3 seconds to choose. Tip. Deffo. No contest.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 10/02/2022 17:34

Neither. I can't remember the last time I went in a pub, and I've never been to the tip.

ButtockUp · 10/02/2022 17:36

That's a difficult one OP.
If I lived remotely and the only pub was a few miles away then I'd rather be banned from the tip.

However, living where I do in a high density town , I'd rather be banned from my nearest pub.

Or do you mean ALL pubs?

Oooerrr... I dunno!

QuiltedHippo · 10/02/2022 17:38

God I love the Tip, please don't ban me.

Plumface · 10/02/2022 17:43

I've only been to the tip once and they shouted at us for walking where we shouldn't (you're supposed to drive, I don't) - maybe that means I've already been banned?! Who knows?

Player20868 · 10/02/2022 17:44

What local pub???
