What's going on in your house right now?

I love reading this threads at the weekend. It's somewhat comforting! So how have your Sundays been and what are you up to?

DH and I are currently having a coffee together on the sofa while DS (18 months) naps. We took him swimming for the first time this morning and he loved it. Then we came home, had lunch, played a little in the living together and now, coffee and sofa chill time before the evening tasks: sweeping tidy, dinner, bath and bed!

I didn’t sleep well last night so tried to have an afternoon nap but failed so am reading on my phone. The children have both been out all morning at the park and being active so are now watching cartoons on their tablets. DH is about to watch the rugby and I’ll get up and finish some sewing I’m doing. Properly lazy!

Currently having a snuggly nap with my new baby boy who will be 4 weeks tomorrow.. had a bit of a crap start to the weekend after a visit to the clinic on Friday and decided to start giving him some formula with breastfeeding to top him up as I’m not convinced he’s getting enough which upset me terribly yesterday but feeling better about it now. DH back to work tomorrow after paternity leave so we’ll be on our own for real after today 😅 genuinely a bit terrified! Other plans for this afternoon are to put something in the slow cooker & to do an online food shop for delivery tomorrow. I’m in normandy in France & it’s horribly grey here today Xox

I'm on the sofa on Mumsnet, listening to the dog lick his paw (I hope!). I'm feeling a little sick, HG has been ok the last few days but feeling it today.
DP is on his phone watching stories and waiting for the pork joint to get to room temp. He's just back from watching the football at his dads.
Dd is spending some time with her grandparents this afternoon, for what feels like the first time in forever. She was over the moon.
Roast dinner for all and then the usual prep for the week and no doubt a very early night to look forward to!

I’ve not long finished a roast chicken dinner and I’m having a glass of red. I’ll walk the dogs in a bit. I’m pissed off tbh as we just sat down to eat and DH was called out because stupid people try to go walking up mountains in a bloody blizzard. I fail to understand what goes on in peoples heads sometimes.

Enjoying a great library book. The Dog Share by Fiona Gibson. Written in 2021. I love a good read. Takes you to a different dimension....

Ds is on his PS4. No change there (aged 16)!

The wind and rain are horrific outside. Pleased I have no need to venture out.

Ds1 gone to pals to watch football. Ds2 playing ps4. Dd at friends. Im just out of the shower,drank to much and didnt go to bed until wee hours. Watching rugby and expecting a shopping delivery later.

7 mile run this morning.

Only 1x DC on the premises, just back from a shopping trip and up in bedroom - I hope homework underway, but I'm not totally optimistic on that one!

DH is watching the 6 Nations on his phone

I'm just lazing round for a bit, before casseroling pheasant for dinner

Playing Florence nightingale to two covid patients, DH and DD. Eldest two DC couldn't come home from college and just off the phone to dd22 talking her through working washing machine in local shopping centre. Sitting down to watch an old movie like Emma or Sense and Sensibility with youngest DD and the last of the Christmas chocolates in a few minutes. Have lamb casserole in slow cooker. Weather here, southern Ireland, was awful but has calmed down now. Busy all morning doing breakfasts, sterilising and laundry. I'm only appreciating how much DH does not when he's not able to do it. Back from walking dogs, one of whom has had a bath so have to clean bathroom now and then sitting down. The silver lining of covid is that none of us can leave the house so no school, college or work tomorrow so no need to set an alarm.
If any of you can get RTE Player I strongly recommend you watch Smother

Once dc in the bath, one dc is doing homework with DH and I am downstairs with the other dc who is watching some tv. I’m meant to be tidying up but I’m on here instead.

We're all watching The World's Most Extraordinary Homes on Netflix and husband is painting a picture at the coffee table. Thinking about going and sticking the dinner on (mainland Europe so a little ahead of UK time). Very quiet day as out one of us was out last night and the other is feeling a bit ropey. Kids have done some baking and we are stuffed with chocolate and hazelnut biscuits.

Oh, and I booked a week's holiday for July after umming and ahing about how stable situation is with Covid going forward. Had a fuck it moment and have booked us a week in Germany in Lubeck right in the old town.

Nodded off on the dining bench in the kitchen with new puppy and older dog. Dd13 cleaning bathrooms for 20e. Dh working and ds12 out and about. Did a yin yoga class online and going to do a roast and bake something so v laid back day.

I've just woken up from an afternoon nap, the 3 year old is awake next to me and the boys are still playing switch in their bedrooms. Weve been shopping and to KFC this morning and I'm going to have a coffee n do some cleaning before tea/bath/bed.

Tidied and cleaned the kitchen. Tidied lounge, uniforms ready, been to the shop for a few treats. Now, we're just chilling out with TV.

We've spent most of the weekend repainting the bathroom so finished off with an IKEA trip this morning for a couple of bits and breakfast.
I've just finished tidying up most of the mess from redecorating and from the parts of the house the DCs trashed while we were painting.
I've also tidied up the garden in a quiet period between the rain showers and helped DS do his homework.
Right now DH is prepping to go to the tip, DS is playing a card game on the floor, DD is throwing a slinky up and down the stairs and I'm finally having a little sit down before starting dinner.

Just finished cleaning, and I'm rewarding myself with a small glass of wine. Roast chicken and all the trimmings is on the go.

Finally managed to get DD11 into X-Files so she's binging that in the living room to catch up with where I'm at in the series.

Toddler is having a late nap after a lousy night as he's full of cold.

Weather can't make its mind up. One minute sunny, the next blowing a gale and sleeting!

Everyone is still in pjs.

I've just had a bath and am relaxing in the front room. I went out for coffee and cake earlier with a friend.
Dh is just having a bath now.
Dd is in her room doing something teenagery.
Ds (12) is doing him drum practice, I can hear him, I love listening to him drumming.
Both kids have done their homework, all is very chilled here. I love a lazy Sunday.

Preparing some veg for tonight’s dinner while listening to my language course (and mumsnetting!)

Teens have done all their homework so they are on screens. I’ll take the dog around the block before it gets dark. She’s an old girl now and can’t go far. Then I’ll have some wine while finishing dinner and listening to more language podcasts. DH has been on laundry duty. I prefer kitchen duties Wink

Might catch up with the Apprentice later or Round the World in 80 days with ds (second viewing) Smile

I've finished cleaning, tidying, washing and language homework and have the bread maker on. I'm just taking a break before I sort out some finance stuff and then completely my plaited loaf (hopefully - it's an experiment). Later on I have hake to cook for dinner which I'm looking foward to as it's a new recipe.

I've come upstairs to watch something in bed. I love Sundays. It's far too windy to go out for a walk so no guilt. Wink
