The dates for the central written exams have been given. Now I know how much time for revision there is. I doubt that DS will join any of the revision groups offered, so who will pester him to get on with it?

No rain today and even 2-3 minutes of sunlight.

I’ve overdosed on orange matchmakers.

MissConductUS · 22/02/2022 20:18

@Sunbird24

I’ve overdosed on orange matchmakers.
Shall we ring A&E for you? Grin

I'm doing the same with a packet of crisps.

I think I’ll be ok if I sleep it off, or maybe try and counteract with a mini packet of pork scratchings…

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 22/02/2022 20:43

Silkie You are right to stress a balanced diet Grin

Just had salmon, potatoes, leeks, peas and broccoli and gave the silkie and silkiecat some of the salmon. I was very popular.

Had 2 milky coffees and 3 chocolate biscuits.

I really like orange matchmakers and if you ate a lot that means you have had your 5 a day for fruit Sunbird

Sunbird24 · 22/02/2022 21:01

According to the box, 4 matchmakers = 1 serving. Yeah right!

Nydj · 22/02/2022 21:05

@MissConductUS

Nydj, yes, they are run by charities to raise money by selling donated goods. The name simply emphasizes their very low prices for used goods.

We have received a photo of DD in her dress. I think she's been peeved that I couldn't guarantee to pick her up and take her to the event given the time of year and the weather. She wound up taking the train, which is a much longer journey given the changes involved. She has always been a bit strong willed. Smile

Lemons, our kids loved swimming too. They both went to water babies classes.

Thank you for the explanation of thrift stores and I’m glad you received the photos.
Lemonsandlemonade · 22/02/2022 21:13

Lovely pictures.

Sunbird in what universe is 4 matchmakers one serving - if I’m honest half a box is a serving in my book!

Glad your appointment has been changed to suit you better and the nurse was helpful. Silkie am so impressed your daughter is ok going to the gym as I personally hate ‘men’ environments like the gym.

Just been to work to sort room for Monday. Managed to do half.

LoveFall · 23/02/2022 03:48

I have been watching "The Great British Menu" on Amazon the past week. I like cooking and have found it quite fun really. Sad that so few women are on there.

Women are so much the main food preparers for families, even still.

We need some woman only cooking shows.

It is indeed unseasonably cold but sunny in the Pacific Northwest. Grandson and his girlfriend are here from uni staying with his Mom. Dog has gone there too, popular puppy he is. He will get lots of cuddles.

I get to sleep in, not worrying about dog potty time, which needs riding down in the elevator etc. Bliss (as much as I miss the dog).

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 23/02/2022 06:10

It is lovely to have light at 6:30.
Sitting here with my cup of morning coffee.

echt · 23/02/2022 07:56

I Karchered my driveway. Re-potted some plants.

sueelleker · 23/02/2022 10:15

Spent yesterday afternoon changing the name on my utilities (DH died 3 1/2 weeks ago) Most of them had both our names on, so it was just a matter of removing his.

Lemonsandlemonade · 23/02/2022 10:46

@LoveFall I love Great British menu. The current UK series is celebrating 100 years of broadcasting. Some of the cooking looks exceptional. Have to say I prefer when the more humble chefs go through.

Aww Sue that must be hard. I know when my DF died suddenly (ish) it was one thing mum found hard. Hope you’re doing as ok as you can.

DB has oncology appoint y this week where he should hear results and what is the plan etc after biopsy.

Meeting friends today who I haven’t seen since before covid.

HelenaJustina · 23/02/2022 13:17

Sue death admin is exhausting (emotionally and mentally) really hope you are taking breaks and have support around you x

Quiet day here, 3rd load of laundry on the line, been for a run and bought some bits the DC need for various residential and expeditions.

My youngest sister bought her prom dress yesterday, she looks incredible in it. It’s a colour she doesn’t normally wear but definitely should!

Silkierabbit · 23/02/2022 13:44

Hugs Sue That must be hard.

Had a lovely message from my former Italian flatmate from 15 years ago saying she wants to videocall me as she wants to look after me. Would be lovely to talk to her again though currently in koala onesie Blush

DH said he has a headache and a cold and has gone to sleep. He said he knows its not covid. This is bringing back deja vu from after our last holiday. He had his booster in December though and seems to be milder here now.

The silkie did wake him up though as she had laid another egg and wanted the entire world to know. He did go down to admire her egg and she was quiet for a minute then as he left she started again for another 5 minutes. Think the whole street must know now. She is laying a lot more than normal for a silkie.

DD was going through gcse exam dates with me, start 16th May and school finishes on Friday before so no study leave. DD said she is planning an illness. Though at least there is half term with week off and extra bank holiday in middle, she has 25 exams.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 23/02/2022 17:05

Silkie I am very sure your flatmate won't mind the koala outfit.

Re the eggs - perhaps she feels more safe and warm where she is now - protected by a rabbit and a warm roof?

MissConductUS · 23/02/2022 21:29

I've been buried with admin today since I'm going to be out of the office tomorrow and Friday. I'll miss the major snowstorm that's coming tomorrow night.

Silkie, I don't know if I could put up with a chicken living inside the house. You must be very tolerant.

Seeing friends was great today even if it was only for 2 hours.

Saw DM she has such a special bond with DS.

Silkierabbit · 23/02/2022 21:53

I love having the silkie in the cottage, its lovely to see her happier and chatty and making lots of eggs again and love rabbit watching over her. Cat gives them both withering looks. DD and DH were not that keen on moving her in but now are completely converted and both chat to her and check on her several times a day. DD says she has become very beautiful since she moved inside.

Just had aligot and veg and now having milky coffee and Eurostar biscuits (lotus) as DS has eaten all the chocolate ones, he is a biscuit monster.

Silkierabbit · 23/02/2022 21:55

Lemons Hope things are OK at your brother's appointment, sorry its such a difficult time for him and you all.

ZZTopGuitarSolo · 23/02/2022 22:17

MissC, enjoy missing the storm. Is it amazingly warm where you are today? I just went for a walk and it was 65F. It is hard to imagine it won't get above freezing tomorrow and we're getting 6" of snow on Friday.

My cat tried to bring in a mouse last night. We were woken by that unique miaow that means "I have a mouse in my mouth and it's ALL for you."

MissConductUS · 23/02/2022 22:30

ZZ, it was up to 62F (17C) here today. It's crazy that there's a major snowstorm coming.

Lemons, I hope your DB has a good result from his biopsy.

Now I have to start packing.
