He has even more lives than our Teflon Taoiseach (in Ireland)Grin.

Callipygion · 31/01/2022 18:19

He won’t resign. He and Carrie will have to be dragged kicking and screaming out of No.10.

I’ll volunteer to do some of the kicking!

LostMyLastHatfulOfWords · 31/01/2022 18:24

I feel that scenes from Orwell's Animal Farm are being re-imagined.. but with Boris and the conservatives as Napoleon and the Pigs.

(There they were writing up the rules for all us ordinary animals and then ignoring them for themselves.)

Who would have thought it could happen in our life-time.

How can we expect our government to be taken seriously abroad when it behaves like this? How much confidence can anyone have in a treaty with Boris's signature on it?

Blinkingbatshit · 31/01/2022 18:27

I just cannot believe they’re still trying to brazen this out. They broke the law, they lied - Boris NOT fit to govern this Country. Carrie has been shown to be the selfish idiot that most OW tend to be. We are a laughing stock to the rest of the world.

amiafreakofnature · 31/01/2022 18:28

So they are going back on the vaccine mandate for NHS staff?

Abraxan · 31/01/2022 18:33

@Perroquet

How long is the Met police inquiry likely to take?
Think I read on BBC that the Met has said it wouldn't take longer than a year.

A whole year of this dragging on potentially!

Lampshading · 31/01/2022 18:34

A year to investigate, wow!

Hightemp · 31/01/2022 18:35

Did anyone else notice the black ties that a lot of the MPs were wearing on both sides of the house?

Hightemp · 31/01/2022 18:38

@HufflepuffPride

I don’t like the word, but he’s just a total cunt isn’t he?
Agree…and definitely not a word that would normally ever use ,but he really is !
longwayoff · 31/01/2022 18:41

Black ties For Jack Dromey, I think. RIP.

Watching parliament today was the last straw for me. I am so utterly mortified and embarrassed to be British. The billions wasted, the pockets lined, the contracts for friends, the Brexit lies, all the other lies, what a heartless, shameless, patronising shitshow of entitlement and conceit.

Boris is odious but at the end of the day is just the front man in a total disgrace of a Cabinet, and a Conservative party which has (mostly) utterly lost what moral compass it had. I could only look on that front bench with fear and loathing.

Yet, we are led to believe that they retain the support of a significant proportion of the electorate and remain (re)electable.

Mother of God, Jesus and the wee donkey how could you in all conscience vote for them?

KimDeals · 31/01/2022 18:45

@sansucre thank you!

Benjispruce5 · 31/01/2022 18:47

I’m not on Twitter but if I was I’d be thanking Kier Starmer for his statement in parliament today. Spot on!

Marney · 31/01/2022 18:53

There are some obvious changes that should be made.
It shouldn't be a parliament full of people with second jobs. They get paid en
oug
h.This town's Labour member of Parliament never even appears in Parliament So why is that ok The Labour party only discuss parties what
do they actually have to offer Borris had parties which l see was wrong but he has turned up for parliament on a regular basis

merrymouse · 31/01/2022 18:53

I can’t understand how any Tory could support the creation of a meaningless layer of bureaucracy, “the office of the prime minister”, with a straight face.

We don’t need an “office if the prime minister”, we need a different prime minister.

More well paid jobs with lots of perks for their pals.
Guineapigssweak · 31/01/2022 18:58

Let's not forget the MPs (one gathering of over 100) are the ones booing and hissing at Boris! They are hypocrites the lots of them!! They all happily partied and I bet none of them owned up to attending it!

HavenLane · 31/01/2022 18:59

BJ is absolutely morally bankrupt. Every action is to deflect from his misdemeanour. Even his so called Brexit success is lies and based on lies. I'm terrified that he will lead us into conflict with the Russians, just to deflect from himself. No trust in him or the government at all.

I'm ashamed to be British this afternoon. I cried watching.

This has been in the works for a while, it's likely to be lead by Lord Frost.

Wholeheartedly agree, shameful behaviour in parliament today.
ParsleySageRosemary · 31/01/2022 19:09

Be fair, they’re not all the same. Politics is a dirty game of compromise, but some don’t just walk all over everyone the way “Boris” has.

There are alternatives to this prime minister. Tom Tugendhat looks promising to me, for a Tory. Theresa May is still there and I don’t believe this would have happened on her watch. There are Tories questioning Johnson publicly today. Many were forced out earlier of course.

For me the only positive that came out today was the suggestions for reform of No 10
Benjispruce5 · 31/01/2022 19:17

So many Conservatives publicly denouncing BJ today and after the police report, if not before, there will no doubt be more and a vote of no confidence.
To bring up an incorrect slur on Starmer failing to prosecute Savile is below the belt and shows just how desperate he really is. He could have apologised and resigned and clung onto a shred of integrity but no, that’s not who he is. He’s a disgrace.

Yes, (mostly) Labour voter here, but Tom Tugendhat always seems decent and intelligent when I see him interviewed.

Thanks @Hightemp and @StarbucksSmarterSister I missed that!
