@derxa

I have a friend from France staying at the moment. She says her French friends and neighbours the French think it's like some surreal comedy and that the British had some sort of collective insanity when they elected him. Does she aye
Not wrong is she @derxa. Unless you've had your brain removed. It should be a surreal shit show, but nope. It's real.
Marney · 31/01/2022 17:28

Well aye or not, despite the fun and games/Le Pen family drama in the run up to the Presidentials the recent events in Westminster, “Partygate” (including today’s PMQs) have started to get a bit of mainstream TV coverage over here in France.

Such coverage has often been accompanied by a bit of a Confused and occasionally Shock, from some of the talking heads.

I was in a class of 32 under Thatcher. I feel like there should be a shrug emoji.
SafeMove · 31/01/2022 17:35

The shit that he slung back at the opposition: the drugs deflection and that abhorrent reference he made about Keir Starter failing to prosecute Jimmy Savile. All points to a desperate man whose ship is sinking - the rats are clinging (Priti, Sunak, Raab and JRM) but they'll jump soon. Apart from Liz Truss who clearly wants to be the next Johnson betrothed Grin

derxa · 31/01/2022 17:35

Such coverage has often been accompanied by a bit of a confused and occasionally shock, from some of the talking heads. No wonder. It's becoming farcical. Let the Tory backbenchers get on with ousting BJ and let the Govt. get on with governing. And this comment will bring the furies down on my head but people using the misfortune of others to make political capital is very distasteful

Please do not embarrass yourself and make out the education system is better under Tories. Just don't.

Again, what on earth does that have to do with number ten parties while we were in lockdown, the police ignoring it while harassing the public and Johnson constantly lying?

Unless your argument is I think labour were pants so let's forget about number 10 parties breaking their own rules and the police not doing their job.

Or maybe we can just talk about how cute my cat is since that's about as relevant to this topic as schools under labour

This quite hard to understand🥴. Labour haven’t been in power for 12 years.

I was a budget holder in my school under Labour and Conservative. Budget slashed by nearly 50% since the Conservatives in power.

I had a class of 25 in a practical class in a Y7. 20 were on the register. It was chaos and dangerous. Under Labour l had classes of 18. Often with several support staff

Class of 34 at primary school under Thatcher too. I can spell and use punctuation, so it can't have been that bad! Mind you, I did have involved parents, which helps.

Labour really weren't the architects of bad education. Funding has always been an issue. Personally, I loathe the academy concept, but as ever , you get what you vote for.

Viviennemary · 31/01/2022 17:46

The MP's supporting him are putting their own integrity into doubt. Who on earth can think he is fit to be PM.

kickupafuss · 31/01/2022 17:48

I'm not sure what is making more angry - the law breaking, the lying or the gaslighting that Johnson and his cronies are engaging in.

StarbucksSmarterSister · 31/01/2022 17:48

I have friends and relatives in France, Spain, Canada, America and Australia (half are British immigrants) and they are all gobsmacked at what this country has become.

LakieLady · 31/01/2022 17:48

Unless it's a female where he just calls them 'she'. Misogynistic prick

I always think that.

He seems to really lose it when he's challenged by a woman MP too. I think Labour should have gone for a woman leader, it would have rattled him far more.

StarbucksSmarterSister · 31/01/2022 17:51

My daughter was in a class of 33 at primary school

How old is she now?

murasaki · 31/01/2022 17:52

Raynor woudl totally rattle him. I'm not that keen on her, but she is a) a woman and b) working class. he wouldn't like that at all. Bring it on.

HufflepuffPride · 31/01/2022 17:53

I don’t like the word, but he’s just a total cunt isn’t he?

I think this. She'd definitely get him on the ropes more than KS

This is exactly what Dominic Cummings said. Not specifically Angela Rayner, but just that a strong woman opposing him would really rattle him.
Youcansaythatagainandagain · 31/01/2022 17:56

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats

I'm assuming it relates to the redacted Partygate document. He'll confirm that it was nothing to do with him, he's sacking a few naughty civil servants, and he'll tell us all how fucking marvellous he really is.
You forgot vaccines, well really it is vaccines vaccines vaccines, world beating (except it isn't I think the UAE is in the lead) vaccines

Of course he headed the research for the vaccines, he was the one who negotiated all the deals, he actually did all the jabs - you might have thought yours was done by a woman or a slim young man but remember The Scarlet Pimpernel had nothing on Boris.

:) This made me snort with laughter.

UselessBaboon · 31/01/2022 18:00

Bad enough he's a lying little shit and complete fuckwit at that too. Now the latest get out clause invented for him by his fuckwit backBELCHERS is TO INVESTIGATE THE RULES of lockdowns INSTEAD. THEY WERE ILLEGAL AND SO FUCKING WRONG & INHUMANE our beloved PM was forced to smuggle booze to No10 in order to work and function properly. Next thing you know he's in his OWN fucking GARDEN with all these people about having a blast on swings. OMG, WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED HERE?! ONLY A SECOND AGO I WAS SO DILIGENTLY AND METICULOUSLY PERUSING ME EFFING BRIEF ON STUFF AND NOW I'M SWINGING AND SEEING THINGS DOUBLE FOR ABSOLUTELY NO REASON. AND WHY DO WE NEED SO MANY SUITCASES IN ME GARDEN ALL OF A SUDDEN?! ARE WE GOING SOMEWHERE NOW? SOMEWHERE WARM AND SUNNY PERHAPS? Can't locate me passport but who gives a shit, I am ready anyway and our border control personnel are very familiar with me face by now. ALOHA THEN. AND THEN THE BLOODY CAKE! IMAGINE: ONE IS COMPLETELY HELPLESS AND DEFENCELESS IN THE FACE OF SUCH PERFIDIOUS ONSLAUGHT. Flaming cheek they got, the lot of them. These cake people. CAME OUT of NOWHERE REALLY, ME GAFF SO EFFING HUGE ALL SORTS CRAWLING OUT OF THE WOODWORK THERE. AND A VERY OLD WOODWORK IT IS TOO. What an ordeal. Thankfully ONE can get sloshed pretty pronto and IN SITU to get over it. Jesus...and a WEE DONKEY.

dontcallmelen · 31/01/2022 18:03

The one thing he did do right was appointing the women who oversaw the vaccine rollout ( to my shame I cannot think of her name) unlike his usual useless mates Dido & company.
Not forgetting either the concerted efforts of NHS/Public health/volunteers & the scientists.
It appears that Boris’s defence is “vaccine rollout” repeated every few seconds along with “wait for the conclusion of the police investigation”

SockFluffInTheBath · 31/01/2022 18:04

Boris: I’m very sorry, I did a bad thing
Keir: you’re unfit, you have poor judgement
Boris: nah not me mate, I did nothing wrong

Hmm

Couldn’t agree more. Johnson’s non-answers are simply insulting. Quite disgraceful even for this PM, the worst ever.
Viviennemary · 31/01/2022 18:08

He has taken us all for fools. And nobody likes that. He is finished IMHO.
