I have to admit to finding it somewhat amusing that being British Boris has to thank his honourable friends every time someone tears strips off him and puts the boot in.

Bretzen · 31/01/2022 16:29

@Francescaisstressed

I find watching the news today utterly depressing. Why would anyone want him leading your party, let alone the country. A corrupt, smug liar who isn't ashamed of his behaviour.
Agreed. And not only is he not sorry but he's going to save his skin by kicking everyone else out.

There, done, got rid of the problems. Nothing to do with me. They're all gone, now let's get on with what the people really want to see.

Greased. Feckin. Piglet.

Except Theresa May, who he repeatedly referred to as "she". How ignorant can one man be?

Unless it's a female where he just calls them 'she'. Misogynistic prick

But she is a she. What does that mean?

sansucre · 31/01/2022 16:33

@KimDeals

What did Theresa say?!! I missed that bit!
"The Covid regulations imposed significant restrictions on the freedoms of members of the public. They had a right to expect their prime minister to have read the rules, to understand the meaning of the rules and indeed those around him to have done so too and to set an example in following those rules.

What the Gray report does show is that No 10 Downing Street was not observing the regulations they had imposed on members of the public, so either my right honourable friend had not read the rules or didn’t understand what they meant and others around him, or they didn’t think the rules applied to No 10. Which was it?'

Perroquet · 31/01/2022 16:33

Can't MPs start submitting letters of no confidence, and when a certain number of them have done so, a vote of no confidence will automatically be triggered? That would be more effective than trying to convince this Emperor Nero to exercise his non-existent judgement and step down!

ilovesooty · 31/01/2022 16:33

Well said Aaron Bell.

SafeMove · 31/01/2022 16:33

Didn't he answer Jess Philips with 'the lady knows'...lady bleurgh.

LilyRose88 · 31/01/2022 16:34

I got so angry watching this debate. I can't believe that we have a PM who is getting away with telling so many lies. I loved Theresa May's question (now there's a sentence I never thought I would write!). And Ian Blackford was fantastic. But will anything change? I can't help thinking that Boris will somehow get away with it yet again. He will blame civil servants and advisors and just re-organise the structure of No 10 staffing and sack a few people. If there was a culture of rule-breaking at No 10, it will have been led from the top. I speak as someone who used to work in Whitehall.

youvegottenminuteslynn · 31/01/2022 16:35

Breaking: Scotland Yard just said they've been handed more than 300 photographs as part of their partygate probe. Wow.

At this point I honestly wouldn't be surprised if there are pictures of Boris with a tie around his head playing air guitar on his knees.

I'm so fucking sick of him laughing at us. He doesn't care about us. Never did, not really. Never will.

Selfish to the end. He won't resign no matter what now, I don't think.

If this hasn't shamed him enough I'm not sure what would. Unless there are pictures of him Matt Hancocking colleagues at these parties maybe.

What a pathetic state of affairs this is. Simultaneously somehow unsurprising but incredibly disappointing.

The good old British political conventions... I also found it amusing that the SNP leader in the HC got booted out for saying what everyone knows. The PM is a liar, he lied and he should go.

WTF was he banging on about the vaccine rollout? The statement was about the parties.

Convention dictates that in the Commons they refer to each other as 'the Right Honourable Lady/Right Honourable Gentleman/my right honourable Friend', not 'she' or 'he'.
AlwaysLatte · 31/01/2022 16:36

@HangoverSquare thanks, I didn't know that!

RunningFromInsanity · 31/01/2022 16:37

I so wish one of the photos showing BJ right in the middle of the party is released to the media now, whilst he is in parliament denying it.

The Conservatives got things going on the pandemic While Labour seemed to have difficulty understanding things they just wanted clarity clarity clarity The government helped businesses and people unable to work as far as I understand and yes I don't claim to be that bright what about all the vaccinations they delivered

murasaki · 31/01/2022 16:39

When it's a back bencher, the right honorable etc seems to imply Johnson has no clue who they are

FFS. I hardly know where to start.

Don't want to derail the thread either.

AlwaysLatte can you not see the difference in courtesy between ‘honourable friend’ and ‘she’?

Hook line and sinker. Hi Carrie

Yes wish I could vote for Blackford. Someone with a backbone.
He's a blustering buffoon
Yellow85 · 31/01/2022 16:42

It’s utter madness that anyone in any job, let alone those running a bloody country needs a report to tel them to calm down with the booze at work.

Surely every employer has a policy on alcohol and drugs?!

Oh no, it's a Boris bot.

Do you think that the left-wing Labour party would not have rolled out the furlough scheme?

As for helping people to work, perhaps if we hadn't written off £5billion in Covid loan fraud we would be a bit less in the shit now.

SpinningTheSeedsOfLove · 31/01/2022 16:43

Honourable = MP

Right Honourable = MP who is Member of the Privy Council

innit??
