Are vaginal piercings illegal here?

I know there was a change in the law in 2015 that classified women who have vaginal piercings to be victims of FGM (even if the piercings were consented to). I've been googling but I can't seem to find a straight answer as to whether it was changed back to allow women to get piercings or not Some sites say yes, some say no!

My genital piercings were all done in London in the mid-1990s - I had to show proof I was over 18 & that was that!

OP When saying hood, I was imaging you were talking about the jewellery, like a knights hood... honestly I worry about me. Honestly thank you for starting this thread, all has been interesting, especially that it is possibly illegal.

But when do you ever see it?

How often do you see your nipple or tongue piercing or nose, eyebrow or ears for that matter apart from a quick glimpse in the mirror.

I personally would never get it done as if it ever went wrong and killed some of the nerves, I doubt you would every get the feeling back.
Having a clitorus is one of the best things about being female

When I had my ears pierced there was a price list that say Prince Albert and clit piercings.

At work recently, one of my clients told me she had hers done and she had it taken out as it made the area "smell cheesy" 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢

I have no idea why she decided to share any of the above with me

I used to have a VCH piercing, had it done in 2004. It was so painful to have pierced but the pain stopped as soon as the jewellery was in. Healed in just a few days too. I had it in for about 8 years if I remember, think I lost one part of the jewellery and didn't have a replacement so I just took it out.

That was a fun piercing, had no idea about the changes in 2015.

I'd need to use a mirror instead of a bath mat if I wanted to see mine every thing I showered/dressed!!

I was actually wondering what happens to some of the labia piercings as you get older?

Around the age of 60 or thereabouts with shrinkage and (despite the best HRT) inevitable atrophy occurs in that area, there is every likelihood of looking like a Sindy /Badbie Doll when the anatomy shifts a bit down there (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing…). But genuinely interested to know what happens to some of the labia piercings then?

(Also glad that I didn’t look at having labiaplasty in my youth seeing as it all neatens up on entirely on it’s own as you age 🤣)

@catheyowes I had a horizontal hood and it was ok pain wise and healing. I then had a "triangle" with two inner labia piercings- they were absolute miserably painful bastards for a good week or so!
