Are vaginal piercings illegal here?

I know there was a change in the law in 2015 that classified women who have vaginal piercings to be victims of FGM (even if the piercings were consented to). I've been googling but I can't seem to find a straight answer as to whether it was changed back to allow women to get piercings or not Confused Some sites say yes, some say no!

*Okay, small labia, flat stomach, deep piercing so it sticks out. Yes lean forward when getting changed, I don't know how else to take my knickers off without leaning forward. If I look at at my crotch I can see my piercing.

Happy or do you need a diagram?*

That makes sense to me anyway! I always imagined it sticks out. I get changed in front of the mirror so if you can see it from further away it makes perfect sense that you can see it getting changed Confused

Sleepyquest · 25/01/2022 16:33
@Sleepyquest essentially it's a piercing through the skin above the clitoris. It's shallow, heals really fast (mine took only a few days!) and the jewellery sits just above the clitoris so gentle pressure is all it needs really.

And given there's a bloody ring through it, you'd think men would be better able to find it 🙄🤣
🤣🤣 basically circled it for them

TheWeeDonkey · 25/01/2022 16:46

@RichardMarxisinnocent

you obviously know what OP meant 🙄 I didn't know what the OP meant. I've heard of clitoral piercings, but am not very knowledgeable about things like that, so just assumed vaginal piercing was something that exists which I've never heard of.
I mean there was a guy who had his forehead pierced and a diamond stuck in it so it's not such a weird question.

Another question, you have more than 8000 nerve ending in your clitoris why the fuck would you want to stick a hole in it?

SamBeckettsLastLeap · 25/01/2022 16:48

Is it dreadful I want a diagram, not specifically for this poster,, more for the list given over page. I have googled but it is blocked on Internet provider. I know people will say I'm a troll but I have no idea what you mean when you say clit hood.

SamBeckettsLastLeap · 25/01/2022 16:49

And I haven't nc, Blush

The clit has a 'hood' of skin that covers it like a hood. I'm not sure how else to describe it 🤣 Here are some diagrams anyway! Hopefully that helps

Personally, I think they are incredibly sexy and look amazing. yes improves your orgasms and general sensitivity.

I have had 3 operations since having mine (labia piercing) and all they do is give me tape to put over it prior to the operation. They have more issues with the nipple one as they worry as I am moved about that will rip.

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 25/01/2022 16:58

@TheWeeDonkey no piercer should ever pierce the clit 😱 it's the hood you get pierced, just a thin bit of skin that covers the clit like a hood.

It goes through the hood, not the actual clitoris.

Thelittleweasel · 25/01/2022 17:02

@Kanaloa

If it is illegal then you cannot consent to it! There was a case R v Brown [1991??] where sado-masochists nailed each other genitals to boards and were found guilty of [if I recall] GBH despite all being "willing" [!!]

TheWeeDonkey · 25/01/2022 17:03

Oh I see. I guess that makes more sense then. 🤔

trumpisagit · 25/01/2022 17:11

@PattyPan

I too was very confused about what was being pierced and assumed it was something different to clitoral etc piercings and that I was just ignorant of the array of piercings available. Probably best to be specific at the piercing studio 😬
That's good advice, you certainly don't want the wrong "bits" pierced. I really can't see the appeal, but each to their own.
SpaceDetective · 25/01/2022 17:13

I can see mine (vch) without any contortion required. Had no idea it might be controversial, I must have had it for nearly 20 years now.

I wish I'd never seen this thread 🤢🤮. I mean each to their own but... nah

victopai · 25/01/2022 17:22

Type 4 FGM is "other types" which include piercings, scrapings etc. We have a gum clinic where I work (and my responsibility is to report FGM) and the I can't remember one being reported in the last 5/6 years. This is where you would expect the bulk to come from if they are being reported. It's mostly asked and reported via midwifery services. That being said I wouldn't know what proportion of midwifery type 4 FGM reported were piercings as we do not go to that level of detail.

🤣🤣 I don't think I've ever been asked to provide a diagram of my vulva before
Whatwouldscullydo · 25/01/2022 17:29

I presume all the close minded people on this thread wont want to listen to this but yes this had a big impact on my orgasms

X marks the spot and all that Grin

Alconleigh · 25/01/2022 17:43

Yeah I can see my VCH clearly without contortion too. I've had mine about 6 years. No HCP has ever commented. Beauticians have. Mostly to say I don't look the type. Which is true Grin. Sadly I think it must have shifted over time as I don't get the same intense pleasure from it that I used to.

WouldIBeATwat · 25/01/2022 17:48

Vulva v vagina and why it absolutely matters.

catheyowes · 25/01/2022 17:51

Is it not excruitatingly painful (the actually doing it and afterwards)? Am aware its a bit different but I had a hood reduction done years and years ago (there was a reason for it, wasn't for sexual pleasure although its helped a bit) and I found the recovery horrendously painful, I can't imagine piercing it .

SpaceDetective · 25/01/2022 17:59

My piercing is only through a thin bit of skin, hardly painful at all. My helix piercings were far more painful

SilverHairedCat · 25/01/2022 18:17

Absolutely sod all pain - it's far thinner than your earlobe. And much less painful!

CovidCorvid · 25/01/2022 18:53

My first vch was pain free. I took it out when pregnant and a few years later got it redone. Was agony, worst piercing I’ve ever had. Properly screamed. But very quick.

SamBeckettsLastLeap · 25/01/2022 19:00

Slice Blush Grin

AintNobody thanks, honestly found this whole thread fascinating, and that diagram was eye opening. I'm a complete wimp, couldn't get my ears pierced, I'm in awe really. Amazing what I've learnt on MN.

Oblomov22 · 25/01/2022 19:11

Actually OP this is very interesting. I didn't know the vaginal one was illegal. And who knew! Till you posted a picture/link that the clitoral / hood ones had 10 different names, not me!
