Roast today or something else? What are you eating?

I've made cottage pie this morning that we will eat later. Tempted to make a crumble as well as have apples that need using up and blackberries in the freezer.

Chicken pie, mini roasts, veg, Yorkshire puds, gravy followed by chocolate cheesecake and cream.
On reading this thread though, I now really want a pub lunch.

Ours was meant to be shepherds pie but I forgot to defrost the mince so instead it's homemade by our butcher's steak pie, steamed veg, roasties and gravy. Can't wait!!

I never do a roast any more. We're having turkey sausages, poached eggs and grilled mushrooms.

I made a huge cooked breakfast so no lunch here. DH wants a carvery dinner put and I'm not complaining! He won a football bet yesterday so has some spare cash.

We're going to my mums for dinner this evening. I think we're having steak and chips, probably followed by a cake of some description as she loves to bake 🤤

Whole carrots with savoury white sauce

DH has gone out tonight so its just me and the fussypants children. No idea what we're going to eat.

We always have a roast but on day 7 of isolation so it's chicken kiev and chips with veg that I will jazz up a bit with peri peri salt.
I've peppers and garden peas.

Pork meatball ghoulash with tomatoes and green peppers and rice.

It's my birthday today so DD is making my favourite meal of Steak Pie, Tatties, Carrots and Gravy.

So looking forward to it

Just had leftover sausages and bacon from the week with tinned tomatoes and beans and crusty bread.

Beef olives from local butchers in onion gravy, mash, carrots, turnip. 😋👌

Lentil soup and sausage sandwiches.

Off to the inlaws for dinner later, whatever is on offer will be sublime (FIL is quite the chef).

Shove it in a freezer bag in a sink of cold (not freezing) water @Shuffletime. Change the water every hour. Should be defrosted by this evening👍

Ooo, I do this with smaller bits of meat (chops/chicken breast) but didn't think it would work for a joint. Its not a big joint so fingers crossed.

Turkey and ham pie with the last of the Christmas turkey and some ham we had in the week.
I'm also making marmalade!

Meatballs in homemade tomato, red pepper and mushroom sauce.
DP has just wolfed a piece or my diabetic, sugar free ginger cake. Which he pronounced good but suggested slightly more ginger next time.

We usually have a roast but it's just me and DS(3) today so may be lazy with a freezer dinner. Lunch for DS was Mac n cheese and a sandwich for me.

Having minced beef cobbler with boiled potatoes today. Already made so just be a case of sticking it in the oven.
