I guess this is where the tactics discussed yesterday come in. For your second guess, could you have thought of a word that includes all the remaining options for the last letter and then you’d have got it in 3.

Yes. Today is a good example of when it would work if it was the final letter you were missing (not going into specifics.

Yesterday, I had this. Couldn’t think of a five letter word containing F, J & M to test with (I bet someone will tell me one now) so just has to plod through the options.

I can't think of a word containing F, J and M either, but, if I was down to two guesses, I would have used something containing two of them - JUMPS maybe. That way, if it's J or M they will go green or yellow and if neither of them do, I know I will need to use F so guaranteed correct in two goes. (Unless I'd missed an obscure word!)

Good example of tactics today. Got very lucky with my first guess. Got cocky for the second one and was obviously wrong. For the third guess, I thought about other possible letters and managed to find a word with four likely letters. Got one of them right which cut down the options hugely and was correct on the fourth go.

@Bandol We must use the same start word! I flip between two start words but both give that same pattern.

@User12398712 yes I thought that we were using the same start word! I have a few different words on my list that I choose randomly. The word I used today has two vowels. I’ve then got another word which contains the other three vowels which I use for guess two if this first word doesn’t have any matches.

@Bandol My first word has two vowels. I have several second words that I mix around but my favourite couple have two different vowels. So if none of them match, it must be the fifth one that I haven't used. Obviously have to take care to keep in mind that there may be two or more vowels.

Just tried Nerdle. My brain isn't good at maths and needed to do the 6 version. It was bloody tricky

Can’t sleep so got in early today!
Took me 4 goes today. After first two days getting it in 3 this is a slight disappointment but still pleased I got it
