Morning all. Awake since 7 rest of house still snoozing, teens for hours more probably. Working tomorrow so up and already have a wash on, cuppa, then I’ll shower. Take dog for a stroll and into Homebase for some pots and compost to plant on a few houseplants that are pot bound. DH has gym this AM . Planning on a country pub this afternoon then I’ll sort dinner, pack work bag and early night. What’s your day looking like ?

I'm at work, looking forward to finishing soon. Have university essay plans to work on this afternoon, then have a nice dinner catch up planned in town with a friend. ☺

Been to Wilko for sweeping brush & pan thingies - the long handled ones. And came away with a new throw (dogs ate the last one), bin liners, thick garden sacks to bag up the sentimental but ugly shit on the top of my wardrobe so it can go in the loft, one of those pneumatic air fresheners, glow white bags and (I know) Fabulosa.
Am declutterung kitchen cupboards this afternoon with an audiobook. And then reading. In peace hopefully.

Food shopping, dinner in the slowcooker ( peanut chicken), made a oat seedy bread thing. Then emptied the shed...we need a skip!!
Made a batch of hand cream. Very pleased with it

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 15/01/2022 15:11

Ooo making your own hand cream sounds interesting! Is it just for you or is it like a business venture?

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 15/01/2022 15:12

That was for @dementedma

peaceanddove · 15/01/2022 15:18

Frosty this morning, so enjoyed a cosy lie in with a coffee + book in bed. Had a pamper morning, so exfoliated in shower, hair masque and loads of body lotion (my skin hates this cold weather).

Treated myself to lots of new underwear yesterday, so ruthlessly purged my lingerie drawers chucking out anything that had seen better days. So satisfying.

Tonight DH and I are going to my cousin's house for supper. Her DH is French and an amazing cook so it's guaranteed to be delicious. Can't wait.

Just for me. Love making herbal remedies

CoodleMoodle · 15/01/2022 15:40

Took DS3 to his hospital appointment this morning (nothing serious) and he's been discharged. DH stayed at home with DD7. Then we swapped kids and I took DD to her swimming lesson.

Got back, washed and dried her hair and then sent her and DH off to PILs for the night. It's just me and the 3yo and he's being good at the moment... long may it continue. Currently doing PlayDoh.

Beans on toast for tea (DH and DD are fussy and won't eat it), then bed for DS and Masked Singer for me. Will probably play some Animal Crossing as well, and just generally chill out.

ChipButtyCurrySauce · 15/01/2022 15:48

Busy morning, run, then out for a couple of pints. Myself and a colleague have agreed we need to get out more so are trying to make a point of going out for a drink (or 3!) pay weekend, depending on our shifts. Neither of us get out much otherwise. Maybe 3 times a year for me! Her not much more.

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 15/01/2022 15:49

We had a bit of a change of plan and just DH took the children out as I'm still feeling week from covid (day 22 now I think) and I want to rest to make sure I'm better for "Christmas" tomorrow!

interferingma · 15/01/2022 17:05

What a soothing thread!
I was up by 7am, pottered in the kitchen as usual, emptying dishwasher etc. Then tea in front of the computer with my daylight lamp on (I need those rays this time of year!).
Lovely long solo dog walk, listening to Newscast and other podcasts.
Then some (very) light gardening. Easing myself back into the garden!

TrundlingAlong · 15/01/2022 17:25

It's been a nice Saturday so far. DH took DS to swimming this morning while DSC and I had a lie in. Then we all went to an exhibition together and had a lovely walk home by the river. Lunch, then hot chocolate and a family film. After that DSC1 did homework while the rest of us played DS's Christmas board games with him. Later DH and I took DS food shopping while both DSC did homework, and now I have cooked dinner and am having a cup of tea and a quick break while DS plays/listens to an audio book and DH clears up the kitchen. Tonight will be a nice dinner and then DS will go to bed while we watch a film or play a board game and have Christmas cake and cheese (and wine for me and DH!) with the DSC.

Morning all what's everyone up to today?

Good luck for tomorrow @lucysmam
How did yesterday go @Simonjt

We have an exciting day today it's "Christmas" today with family as we haven't seen them thanks to a combination of covid and broken legs! We are off to a lovely country hotel / restaurant for brunch and a walk. Think I'm going to have eggs Benedict as a treat.

I've popped a joint of beef in the slow cooker for this evening just having a simple roast it's all ready prepped.

This afternoon we need to get ready for school etc after covid will be strange to be back in a normal routine.

I also need to go into the loft to find and wash / tumble dry some baby clothes for a friend whose just had her first baby and I said we will pass things on as our family is complete. Mixed emotions!

What's everyone up to today?

lucysmam · 16/01/2022 10:21

Thanks @Plantsandpuddlesuits! I'm actually surprisingly nervous (to start a job working with the same people, and the same dc, who I see every day 🙄). "Christmas" sounds like a nice way to spend the day! Have fun 🎅🎄

@Simonjt I hope yesterday was a truly amazing day for you all!

We're having a fairly chilled day. I'm going to wash up, iron, and make sure I have everything sorted for the morning.

I'll check whether the girls have homework too & help with that if needed. And this afternoon, I'm going to finish a little bit of prep for Rainbows and Guides on Tuesday.

The girls are likely to spend much of the day Minecrafting/watching other people play Minecraft 🙄, and occasionally popping down for a chat.

KurtWilde · 16/01/2022 15:40

Hope your 'Christmas' is going well @Plantsandpuddlesuits those sound like lovely plans!

I was up early today because I wanted to clear all the kitchen cupboards out, bin things that are out of date (rarely much tbh), and use up things that there's not much left off. I was so chuffed with the cupboards I decided to do the pantry too 😂

So this evenings food is a hodgepodge of things I found in the cupboard. It'll be a pasta bake of sorts with different types of pasta all a chucked in together with tuna, butter beans and a tomato and marscapone sauce. Should be .. interesting! Rice pudding for afters.

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 16/01/2022 19:49

Thanks @KurtWilde we had a great day, gave and received some lovely presents. I'm liking Christmas in both December and jan this should be a new tradition to brighten up Jan!

Simonjt · 17/01/2022 21:03

@Plantsandpuddlesuits Very well, just attempting to order some sleep that lasts longer than 45 minutes 😴
