Morning all. Awake since 7 rest of house still snoozing, teens for hours more probably. Working tomorrow so up and already have a wash on, cuppa, then I’ll shower. Take dog for a stroll and into Homebase for some pots and compost to plant on a few houseplants that are pot bound. DH has gym this AM . Planning on a country pub this afternoon then I’ll sort dinner, pack work bag and early night. What’s your day looking like ?

I’ve been ill for months so having a lie in.

Hoping to manage a walk into the city later to pick up a few things and hoping DH will cook later.

My life has profoundly changed over the last few months. This is not a typical weekend for me.

languagelover96 · 15/01/2022 09:06

Not much. Today is a off day. Tonight I will either watch Emily in Paris or a movie with a glass of white wine or cider.

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 15/01/2022 09:07

Currently still in bed, no children as at grandparents. DH still asleep as our little kitten finally had her second jab yesterday but unfortunately she had a restless night. Need to get up get organised, do a LFT so I can visit my grandma in hospital. Then maybe a pub lunch with DH and a walk. Come home and chill and catch up on some tv.

Itwasgoodwhileitlasted · 15/01/2022 09:08

In bed at the moment with coffee and raisin scotch pancakes. Going to hop in shower soon and make an effort with my hair today.

Picking up Tesco food before lunch, taking DS to birthday party, then later on this evening I'm going to wagamama.

No housework on a Saturday. It's the rule!!!!

GreySweater · 15/01/2022 09:09

Bit of cooking this morning - veggie lasagne / soup. Some laundry / general tidying up / walk the dog. Kids have swimming late morning and then I'm getting my hair cut / coloured for the first time since last June! Parents over for coffee late afternoon and then night in front of the tv - probably Masked Singer and a bowl of popcorn.

RestingStitchFace · 15/01/2022 09:09

Lazy morning here, then taking DS for his swimming lesson and a post-swim Maccie D.

Might do some crafting when we get home. Have some sewing projects on the go.

Staying home this evening. My 3 closest girlie friends are all isolating with the dreaded C....Bloody pandemic!

mommybear1 · 15/01/2022 09:10

All plans cancelled (gymnastics for DS4 / swimming/ visiting friends) as DS4 has come down with a horrible cold he's very chesty and gets sick everytime he coughs so I foresee a day with a lot of washing 🧼 Grin

Purplewithred · 15/01/2022 09:11

A friend who was staying for a couple of days has just left, DH in bed after night shift, no children. Will feed the birds who are scrabbling through the empty bird feeders outside making me feel guilty. Off for a walk with friends soon then need to plan the week’s food and fit in a shop and a couple of phone calls before evening with DH before trip to PIL tomorrow.

LadyMacnet · 15/01/2022 09:11

We’ve had a lazy breakfast listening to Dermot on R2 and getting the laundry on. We are going out soon to buy paint for our hall, stairs and landing as the decorator starts on Monday. We’ll be ripping up the carpet on the stairs and landing and taking it to the tip this afternoon. This evening we plan on watching Ozark.

@Simonjt your day sounds very exciting and wonderful!

1AngelicFruitCake · 15/01/2022 09:13

Lying on the settee with covid. Hoping to move in a bit to do some tidying up as it’s got into a mess with my DH juggling his work, school pick ups/drop offs etc. I realise now how much I do in the week to keep the house looking good! It’s a mess now!

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 15/01/2022 09:14

@Simonjt

We’re in a premier inn, it most definitely wasn’t a king size bed and the mattress was horrible, mega cheap though, so that can almost be forgiven.

We’re taking our little girl home today, so last night will be the last undisturbed sleep for a while. So I think today will be a mix of nerves, excitement and thinking wtf have we done.

I remember you from last week's thread @Simonjt many many congratulations and wishing you all the best!
JugglingJanuary · 15/01/2022 09:14

@embolass

I'd 'sort dinner' by getting a menu at the country pub!!

Moonface123 · 15/01/2022 09:14

Dropped my 16 yr old son off at work earlier, (6.00am was absolutely freezing cold ) then got back into my cozy bed with a coffee and some marmite on toast, browsing online since.
Today l plan to have a quick tidy up and see to my beloved animals.
Wrap up and go out for a walk and also make a start on painting my bedroom walls, to freshen them up, l usually work until lunchtime on a Sat , so this is a nice change for me.

Nidan2Sandan · 15/01/2022 09:16

Slept terribly as DH was away and I can never sleep when he isnt with me (yeah yeah, I know Grin )

So today I have the tesco shop coming. I need to go for a run at some stage, shower, pop to Pets at Home and hopefully keep the 3 children alive. But they're driving me mad already so that's questionable 😂

OldTinHat · 15/01/2022 09:16

I'm off to see someone I met at a hobby who needs some tech help (nothing to do with hobby). I think she's lonely and I just want to fix and go but she's already talking about making lunch for us. I've told her that's kind but no thanks so I need to have an excuse ready. Not looking forward to it tbh.

Oh how exciting!!! I've missed this news from you! I presume you mean a human little girl, not a new puppy?!

How old is she? What does DS think about it?

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 15/01/2022 09:25

Morning all!

I'm the first one up, woke up really thirsty, possibly due to half a bottle of red wine last night 🤔

Everyone else is either asleep or amusing themselves. I've got a pot of tea, the fire on and am just waiting for ocado.

DH is off for a haircut this morning. Id like to make some soup for lunch, got a Nigel Slater recipe for chilli and lentil which I want to try but am debating adding butternut squash in aswell.
We are hoping to go to the beach this afternoon then are debating Chinese takeaway for dinner.

I'm really excited about tomorrow we are finally seeing my side of the familys for "Christmas". Due to covid (us) and broken leg (them) it's been pushed back and back. Going to a country house for brunch then a walk round the grounds the children love it there we often go.

Have a lovely weekend all.

@lucysmam you'll have to show us your new job clothes you buy...good luck for next week!

RedHot22 · 15/01/2022 09:25

I hope all goes well Simonjt Smile

F1rstFrstFuture5 · 15/01/2022 09:26

Working 12 hour shift

Giggorata · 15/01/2022 09:28

I love these threads that give us a glimpse into everyone's lives!

I'm still in bed, awaiting tea and pills. Then up, shower, bed change and put a wash on. Make porridge.
Wearing gardening clothes this morning, as we're going down to our bit of land to finish building raised beds and start the dog proof wire fence.
But whilst DH walks the dogs, I might get time to knock up some cheese scones and sort out some garden chairs, drums, rattles and silly hats that I’m taking to a friend tomorrow, for a Wassail in her orchard.
With any luck, we'll be back indoors in time for the Snooker and some hot chocolate with Baileys.
There's a lamb casserole in the slow cooker which we'll have with jacket sweet potato. Then more dog walking and more Snooker.

maddy68 · 15/01/2022 09:29

Going for a long lazy lunch in the mountains and then into the city tonight to watch a band

Pat123dev · 15/01/2022 09:31

Few housework jobs, walks dogs and kids, check horses are alive and well. Make dfil birthday cake, curry at their house for birthday tea, back home 11pm ish probably.

FocacciaFingerer · 15/01/2022 09:31

Sitting on the sofa with a cuppa, blanket on my lap and my beautiful silver tabby cat curled up and purring away on said blanket, I can hear my dog snoring in the other room
Once Madam has jumped off I'll be showering etc, quick bowl of cereal then off into town to run some errands and hairdressers at 2 for half a head of foils and a wet cut, DH will take the dog for a 2-3 hour walk
Home to whip up a victoria sponge with loads of fresh cream and jam as a very good friends DM passed away earlier this week, he lives 3 hours away so he's popping in for coffee and cake before he drives home
Quick tidy up then sausages, mash, peas and onion gravy for myself, DH and DD who will be in from work about 8ish
Then tv, knitting and bed
All very exciting 🤣

Justonedayatatime11 · 15/01/2022 09:32

Still in bed, drank too much disaronno last night and feel a bit wobbly and strange! Plans for a mostly lazy day, DD is with her dad, DH has work to do in the garden. I'm supposed to be going through the 12 storage tubs of clothes I've accumulated but never wear to see what to keep and what to sell but I'm not sure that'll get done!
Will need to get up and look after the menagerie shortly and then out to my absolute favourite 'proper' pub with DH tonight for dinner.
@Simonjt I hope it all goes well today!
