Another Bloody Downing Street party

JustJam4Tea · 10/01/2022 21:51

So hours after telling us to only meet one other person outside from a different household 100 invited to Downing Street BYO in the garden.

It was unlawful to mix outside. If my employer had invited 100 staff to a garden party we’d have all been arrested.

@the80sweregreat

Was he there or not? So much blinking theatre , when it's one of the most easiest questions in the world!!
Now you see, this is actually a really complicated question. Clearly he was there in the sense that, it is where he does all his very important work and colouring in and also where he lives, except when visiting his mistresses. He was also in the garden at the time that some other party were having a party, but he did not know why they were in his garden, and really it is quite a large garden, so he was there and in the garden, but not at the party, but instead getting on with an important work meeting about what colour to paint the wallpaper.

This is all so wrong. I want to do something, I want to march, to protest, to oust them. I've never felt so disgusted and angered by them.

the80sweregreat · 11/01/2022 13:37

Maybe he was hiding behind a tree or a rose bush , or in camouflage?

He'd have been in the fridge @the80sweregreat ...

Susanna Reid this morning on GMTV was funny
I'm not a fan of hers usually , but she was great

Make sure you write to your MP.
the80sweregreat · 11/01/2022 13:39

Oh yes, the fridge where they put all the nice wine out of Waitrose!

the80sweregreat · 11/01/2022 13:42

My MP is a ERG Tory nut
He would ignore any correspondence from me

Hearwego · 11/01/2022 13:42

**I don't remember that at all! I do remember the utter amazement when he won in 1992, and how very strong people believed Labout rombe under John Smith.

John Smith wasn’t the Labour leader then , it was Neil Kinnock. He was seen by many as unelectable, like Corbyn.

Been there. Done that. Got the T-Shirt.

Welcome to the next 40 years of your life. How does it feel ?

Surely there are some banners that could be waved during the 4-day bank holiday we serfs are getting this year (Gawd bless you Ma'am ...) ?

Comedycook · 11/01/2022 13:44

I feel especially incensed when I think of how the poor Queen sat alone wearing a mask at her husband's funeral.

NOTANUM · 11/01/2022 13:44

On suggestions that the Gray inquiry will be halted if a criminal inquiry is opened..
Who would conduct the inquiry? The Met were on duty so already know if there was a party and if fit to run this inquiry would have asked questions already.
This was some 10 months before Sarah Everard was kidnapped and killed by a MET policeman who faked arrest for violating lockdown rules. The same lockdown rules that don’t apply to the government.
This has gone too far.

Hearwego · 11/01/2022 13:46

I don’t see how Boris can admit to it, now. He’d denied it too many times.
I can’t see what else he can say other than say he wasn’t there, or come up with some bullshit story.
If he’s proven to have been there, I’m not sure he’ll survive as PM.

Peregrina · 11/01/2022 13:46

And he knows a photo will surface if he says he wasn't.

Bring it on. Except they will decide that it was a business meeting after all.

What are they trying to hide by letting this all come out now?

the80sweregreat · 11/01/2022 13:47

Oh please , Mr Cummings , please leak a photo or two , please !!
( or anyone in fact )

SerendipityJane · 11/01/2022 13:48

The trick is not to vote for them in the first place.

(And if you don't/didn't vote, then this is definitely on you).

the80sweregreat · 11/01/2022 13:49

100 people at one party , all working on laptops etc?
Will Gray look into their tech to see what they were working on that day ? Times etc?
Surely this is easy Peasy for our ( corrupt ) police ?

FindingMeno · 11/01/2022 13:49

If only people had voted for someone with integrity when they had the chance.

the80sweregreat · 11/01/2022 13:50

I wouldn't vote for my MP under any circumstances, even less now

He thinks he can get away with anything, and that he'll just ride it out with a bit of bluster, as he always does. He might be right.

He doesn't believe that the rules apply to him in the same way that they apply to other people, he doesn't think that the truth matters, and he doesn't feel any compulsion to take responsibility for his actions. It's a frightening combination in a leader.

SerendipityJane · 11/01/2022 13:52

But 30% of your fellow constituents were perfectly happy with any outcome.

I bet they are probably the ones frothing the most too ...

AlexaShutUp · 11/01/2022 13:52

In fairness, many of us are saddled with Tory MPs after voting for other parties. We are not responsible for the rest of the electorate's decisions!

SerendipityJane · 11/01/2022 13:55

Frightening or not, it's what the country clearly wanted. And if it didn't want it, then it shouldn't have voted for it.

If you listen very carefully, you can hear the government tell you this too. Because it's true.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 11/01/2022 13:55

How the hell can the police have turned a blind eye to this at the time while moving people on from park benches, shaming them using drones for having the audacity to go for a walk, while Boris was fucking throwing parties? Angry

He lies to us. He and those covering up for him are all fucking liars.

Hearwego · 11/01/2022 13:56

I think a lot of people don’t actually care about Boris’ lies or what he does. The voting public have short memories.
Lots of people haven’t forgiven Labour for the last time they were in power.
People won’t stop voting the Tories just because of this.
There needs to be a strong alternative.
I don’t think Sir Keir connects enough with the voting working class.
Labour haven’t won since 2005.
If there was an election tomorrow I wouldn’t be surprised if Boris still won.
