And a stylish young women who always looks incredibly serious with 3 sausage dogs called Cumberland, Savaloy and Chipolata.

Grin

She and I could definitely be friends.

My grandfather had a dog called Lupin which I think is rather splendid.

Our neighbour has a beautiful but naughty weimaraner called Hamilton who often escapes. We always know because we can hear our very camp neighbour running down the road shouting "Hamiltooooon, how could you!!!!"

IamEarthymama · 06/01/2022 13:22

My dog is called FitzChivalry Farseer after the protagonist in Robin Hobb's Realm of the Elderlings.
We got him in first lockdown when we were listening to all the novels in the series. We were immersed in that world.

If, please Goddess, we get another it will be called Hobb.

(As I was answering the door last night a black furry bundle came into the porch, a tiny version of our boyo. I was so happy, she was really lovely. As we prepared to post on our local FB page her owner appeared and we handed her over.

She had escaped in June 2020 and ended up at our house. Back she came in another bid for freedom)

Made us realise that another dog would be just right.

Loving the names! My friend has a lurched/wolfhound called Brws, it's just right.

I met a man with a lovely Italian greyhound a couple of years ago. She was called Panigale. (For non-bikers, the Panigale is a very, very fast Italian motorbike.)

She was called Pan for short though.

puddleduck234 · 06/01/2022 13:24

My next dog is going to be called Pat....

She terrifies and intrigues me in equal measure. Grin

She's always been lovely when chatting to the toddler about the dogs but I definitely get the impression she wouldn't think twice about walking straight over me dogs and all if I were in her way. Grin

NdujaWannaDance · 06/01/2022 13:25

I knew someone with a cat called Lulu Boy.

They rescued him as a stray kitten and thought he was a girl so they called him Lulu. A few weeks later they took him to the vet and were told he was not a girl but a boy.

They could have changed his name to Louis, but no. Lulu Boy. Grin

WeeFae · 06/01/2022 13:25

JD (for Just Dog)

certainshepherdpups · 06/01/2022 13:26

@MorningStarling

Someone actually calling their dog the same name the dog in "The Dambusters" had, and I don't mean the name "Digger" that it sometimes gets in afternoon showings on Channel Five.
I really don’t think this post is appropriate for the thread. In no way at all could this racist word be considered the best dog name ever. It’s shocking that you evidently think it is.
SirVixofVixHall · 06/01/2022 13:26

@Honks

Mini schnauzer called Rumpole. Owned by a single lady who hoped to achieve the nickname of Rumpole’s wife in the TV series…… Your starter for 10 if you can remember it!!
