Elle Darby's old tweets

I don't follow Elle Darby but am aware of her on Instagram. I came across her on TikTok after loads of her old tweets have been shared. So hateful and angry, the tweets are really nasty.
Has anyone else seen them? She's turned all her comments off and seems to be staying quiet!

Whether it was ten years ago or not, what is certain is that she actually held extremely racist, homophobic and ablist views. They're not just tweets - they reflect what her actual opinions were (and maybe still are).

She wasn't a young child, she was old enough to know better - at that age I was going on demos protesting against those sorts of views. And it wasn't a few slightly non-PC tweets, it was a frequent outpouring of extreme racism etc.

Do people often change from being extremely racist to being non-racist?

If that is what has happened here, it's a huge shift in her fundamental outlook - so what changed her mind? I bet she can't articulate that, can she?

I’m doubtful to be honest , her views were/are extreme

Like I said the apology is step 1, probably out of 100 steps or more if she is really sorry and has genuinely changed.

Nah I’m the same age as he’d, well, a little older but grew up in the same ‘oooo social media is new what do we do with it’ world of bebo/Twitter/MySpace and that.

It wasn’t common for people to be outwardly racist/homophobic like that.

There is nothing good about influencers. Not one thing. They encourage people to buy tat in order to try and emulate a fake, airbrushed lifestyle and to feel inadequate when they can't.

LOL about size 12 being held up as an outlier and a positive example (it's two dress sizes below the average UK woman FFS).

No one is influencing anybody to become a volunteer, take time to speak to a lonely elderly person, pick litter, etc. It's all bikinis and fillers by a pool in Dubai.

Absolutely. It was 2011 anyway, not 1950. "It was different back then" excuse is nonsense.

I do not know, she lost a lot of brands due to the tweets. I would honestly be suprised if anyone wanted to work with her now but she seems to still have many followers on her platforms.
