Elle Darby's old tweets

I don't follow Elle Darby but am aware of her on Instagram. I came across her on TikTok after loads of her old tweets have been shared. So hateful and angry, the tweets are really nasty.
Has anyone else seen them? She's turned all her comments off and seems to be staying quiet!

Her sister has learning difficulties and she’s always exploited her for views and there’s tweets saying she’s going to strangle the little dwarf

I’d not heard of her either but just had a quick look on her wiki on tattle. Disgusting tweets. This influencer culture is awful -I think this could be a topic that is brought up more in schools. The constant lies and trickery to show off ‘perfect’ lifes. Influencers are using chasing their own unattainable lifestyles, they literally can’t live up to what they present.

God that's awful! However, she's about 25ish? These tweets are from 2011 so she would have been 15 or so. Hopefully she's changed since then and educated herself.

God knows, I was a completely different person at 25 to that I was at 15. Although I was never racist or hateful (although there was no Twitter in ancient times).

Not buying that- my 15 year old would know better as would I at 15 (and I’m older than ED) . Racism wasn’t ok ever so it’s irrelevant

Agreed @InThebleakMidweek at 15 I was writing cringy tweets to bands I loved and stuff like that, would never have posted anything racist or homophobic as by that age you should know better.

Obviously the content is highly disturbing but looking deeper and thinking about not only how blatant she was which means she felt confident to be that ‘vocal’ - clearly indicates she must have living in an environment where that was acceptable?? But also how others around her behaved they same way ? Her partner having some similarly unpleasant tweets and the fact at the time she wasn’t pulled up on any of it ??

I bet a lot of people haven’t seen the tweets, as I’ve only seen them on Twitter. Nothing on Instagram where her huge following is. I’m expecting big influencers like Zoe Sugg to unfollow her as it will hugely ruin their imagine

Yeah, they’re all photoshopped. There are pics of what she really looked like while pregnant on tattle.

Yes, I thought this also as I didn't know about her tweets until I saw this thread and then had a look on Twitter.

There’s a video on Twitter of her being racist from about 5 years ago. So she can’t start with the “it was a decade ago” bullshit.

Disgraceful, she should actually be in trouble for this not just losing followers!

I don't get the oh it was a decade ago argument, for such a huge amount and with the content that was in them they must have been held views she had, they don't just dissappear. None of my friends posted stuff like that when we were 17, by that age (well even before) you know it's unacceptable.

I don't expect any of her fellow influencers to call her out, they all tend to band together has they're al stacked together like a house of cards.

She's probably gonna stay quite for a bit and hope it blows over.

Virtually everyone knows that the sort of words used and views expressed are totally unacceptable and they also knew 10 short years ago, it was 2011 not 1911. The n word has (thank Heavens) been abhorred by anyone claiming decency for decades and I would not have used it at any age (and I was 16 in the 70s) I actually don't know anyone who would, unless they were racist.

I'm not buying the "we were young and know better now" (when they were rumbled) This is not just the use of a word once or an unfortunate phrase not really understood, there appears to be stacks of it and it is what they are, this is their mindset. I hope they do reflect and show genuine remorse, but I think that would include understanding why their influencer days had to be over and I'm pretty certain that is the last thing they want.

I would have so much respect for other influencers if they unfollow her / never work with her again.. why would they want to be associated with her after what she's said? If they don't it just shows they're all as bad as each other.
