Do you know a Randy?

I was thinking about names that are common in the US but that you would rarely find over here in the UK. I can't imagine meeting a Randy.

Similarly:
Hunter
Patty
Lincoln
Booker
Gunner

I went to the States a few years ago and was surprised at how many men under the age of 30 were called Trevor.

Has anybody come across any babies that have names more common in the US?

Nope, nor have I met a Herb, a Clay, an Ike or a Hank!

blackteaplease · 30/12/2021 19:34

I do, but he is Dutch, his full name is Randolph.

TheDudesmummy · 30/12/2021 19:36

My dad's name is Randolph, he doesn't really call himself Randy but some people do.

Off topic, but I once met an American girl called Mandy Wolf who swore her dad's name was Randy Wolf. I nearly choked laughing. Sorry, Mandy.

Yes but he is American. He’s lived here since childhood though.

I know a child Hunter and a teenage Lincoln (brother Carter). None of the families have US connections.

Know a Hunter - He’s in his 60s in Scotland. I know a couple of Randy’s but they are both American.
I know a few Trevor’s but they are all about 60

Never come across a Randy but have got emails from a Cock before (apparently a fairly common Dutch abbreviated name)

Sweatilicious · 30/12/2021 19:55

No, but I did meet an American guy introduced to a meeting as "BJ" and we all snorted like 14 year olds.

LubaLuca · 30/12/2021 19:58

I know a couple of men called Randy, but they're North American.

I work with a few Gunnars as well, but they're Nordic. I think it's a great name.

DC's tutor group is known by teacher's initials. Barbara Jones (or similar) was changed to JB. We all still sniggered. Obviously we're immature, lol!
