Please can we chat about it on this thread :)

I've seen them 2009 at Glastonbury
2010 - Milton Keynes Bowl
2010 - V Festival

So epic, I often watch old videos on YouTube and think I would probably die if I went to a Prodigy gig now!

Manchester some time in the mid 90s.
Was in a theatre, me and my Mum went.
We were in the 'balcony' 2nd floor, and it shook so much I thought it would collapse Grin

People next to us smoked loads of weed.
My Mum bought a whistle and was blowing it madly... she died this year, and I found the whistle whilst sorting her stuff. That and our ticket to Black Grape.

Happy, crazy times Smile

One of their last shows at Alexandra Palace in 2018 (I think)
Someone had a fit in front of us and the sound wasn't amazing. Still a great gig.

That sounds like it was one hell of a night ☺️

Saw them at Brixton academy sometime in the nineties, not sure when! Just after smack my bitch up came out. Amazing.

KylieKangaroo · 30/12/2021 23:00

Saw them twice, first at V fest around 2005? They were so good! Second time at Download festival they were good but the sound system was awful!

Global Gathering 2013 (ish?)

Ahhh...No Good (Start the Dance) What an absolute banger! Reminds me of my misspent youth!

NorthernChinchilla · 30/12/2021 23:09

@Addictinsane

It was indeed! Most of all I remember the atmosphere as it was a (relatively) small venue, dark with purple lights, Prodigy leaping around the stage...

To be fair, Black Grape was even wilder, completely deafened after Shaun shoved his mike down the saxophone and someone goosed my Mum unaware of her - relative- age.

PrancerandDancer · 30/12/2021 23:14

Cardiff 2009... Was my first ever gig! Was crazy! Not really for me but my then bf/now DH and a group of mates were going so I tagged along. Agreed with previous poster about them only playing bits of the songs. They just cut out at the end. My DH assures me their others gigs were better!
Enjoyed Dizzee Rascal though.

Tiddlywinkly · 30/12/2021 23:22

Ah, happy memories....my first gig. 1997 in Reading (not the festival). Fat of the Land had just been released. They played the earlier releases too. So good.

TinaYouFatLard · 31/12/2021 04:49

God, I yearn for the 90’s.

Rainbows246 · 31/12/2021 05:15

@LividLaVidaLoca

Approx 96 or 97 (maybe 98?) at the GMEX.

Couldn’t tell you how they were. We started at the front and had to get pulled over the crash barrier by security after minutes.

I was there 1997. We were on the barrier at the front to the left but didn’t get crushed. They were amazing. Foo fighters supported .

Saw the prodigy a few times over the years they were always bloody amazing.

I went to the Apollo in October 96 it could of been that. We were on the upper seats and it was mental even near the back. Never stopped dancing. Amazing as a 17 year old. Saying that it would now be amazing as a 42 year old tbh!
ContadoraExplorer · 31/12/2021 05:52

Feb 2010, O2 Academy in Glasgow. It was absolute carnage - loved it!

LostFrog · 31/12/2021 07:32

Glastonbury 1995, headlined the other stage on Friday night. I was 17. Most of my friends went to see Oasis on the main stage at the same time. Never regretted that decision.

LividLaVidaLoca · 31/12/2021 07:34

@TheGirlWithTheArabStrap I think yours was a different gig, because I was wearing combat pants and a vest top which implies summer rather than December, and the support was ….. want to say something to do with fish….. not Foo Fighters!

Anyone else see them at GMEX mid/late 90s can clarify??

Mudday · 31/12/2021 07:44

@LostFrog , me too!!! Yegads 'Voodoo People' live! One hell of a memory; ah the 90s...miss them 😌

That was at the Manchester Apollo in 1996 I was there too with my friends, we were all 16 and It was an amazing gig, Keith came out in his hamster ball! God I miss the 90s
FannyFifer · 31/12/2021 08:15

Best time, 96, T in the Park, MENTAL!

TheGirlWithTheArabStrap · 31/12/2021 08:16

@LividLaVidaLoca they played two nights in Manchester. The first was supported by Red Snapper (fish?) And the next night the support was Foo Fighters. You were wearing a vest top because you were too young and cool for a coat 😘

Reel Big Fish? Ska band with lots of brass instruments. Another one me and DH love - completely different vibe though!

Indoctro · 31/12/2021 08:26

T in the park I can't remember the year

And

2015 in Aberdeen

LividLaVidaLoca · 31/12/2021 08:36

@TheGirlWithTheArabStrap

YES RED SNAPPER!

Can’t believe we missed the Foo Fighters by one night, and yup, makes sense about the vest top. Channelling my inner Mel Blatt.

glastogal · 31/12/2021 08:43

Brixton academy 2003
Cardiff, glasto and (I think) Alexandra Palace too, but I don't recall the years! Prodigy at Brixton was one of the best gigs of my life I think

crispsarny · 31/12/2021 08:55

1992 Fox’s Nightclub Wolverhampton, time of my life!

If you were lucky enough to see The Prodigy live..
