Has anyone EVER received their shopping for free due by scanning their Sparks card?

I am convinced it’s all one big fat lie. I don’t seem to get any good offers on my card anymore but always scan in the hope I’ll win all my shopping for free. It never happens though Sad

Anyone ever won?

Not yet.

ABCDEF1234 · 30/12/2021 14:38

No, nor do I know anyone who has

Stopdropnroll · 30/12/2021 14:38

Yes I have! It was a really boring shop mostly knickers and vests for my children!

PintOfBovril · 30/12/2021 14:39

I haven't yet but I'm convinced it'll be when I've popped in to buy a 50p tube of mints rather than the hundred pound Christmas shop!

HungrySausage · 30/12/2021 14:40

I wonder if it is completely random or whether they have an algorithm to make sure it’s only for boring underwear and tubes mints.

My friend has - it was ages ago though and think the balance was about £25.

namechangerdanger7 · 30/12/2021 14:40

Not me, but someone at an M&S food shop did- the self serve checkout announced it Grin

EllieBellend · 30/12/2021 14:46

I did, and all I'd bought was a bloody sandwich!

Heavymetaldetector · 30/12/2021 14:47

Following with utter intrigue and expectation.

It's a weird loyalty card though isn't it? I used to get a "gift" on my birthday. One, which I posted about on here, could be redeemed for the staggering prize of SOCKS up to the value of £8 - just to make sure I didn't take thr piss and buy some luxury cashmere feet encasements, and keep me in my place at the Everyday Socks part of the store.

eleflump · 30/12/2021 14:54

My mum did - the shopping was worth about ten pounds I think.

RNBrie · 30/12/2021 14:57

I've thrown away my Sparks card, given the value of the data they get, it's an insult!! I'd rather pay for my own £8 pair of socks and protect my personal information!

Mamette · 30/12/2021 15:02

I don’t have a Sparks card but I randomly got a promotion called “100% free order” when I was buying some clothes a few months ago.

HungrySausage · 30/12/2021 15:04

I am waiting for someone to come and tell me they won a huge shop, but I think I’ll be waiting a long time by the sounds of it!

Was it a good sandwich though? Grin

This is scandalous! So as a loyal Sparks Swiper I’ve won a grand total of nothing but you got a free shop for zero swiping? Shock

The Waitrose card is also rubbish from what I can recall - I don't bother scanning it anymore

Suzi888 · 30/12/2021 15:07

Yes, a friend’s mother did.

Ooh I knew I’d get in trouble if I told about this 😂

Worriedgranmasmithy · 30/12/2021 15:17

Yes my friend. Last Christmas. Fifty pounds worth of Christmas food goodies. Lucky lady.

Ironmanrocks · 30/12/2021 15:19

Does anyone also remember the Lloyds Bank promotion that was similar? I didn't win that either....😭

Haha! That's so stingy of them.

To the person re the Waitrose card - what is that all about? A few years ago I moved to somewhere where we had a local Waitrose and I've been in regularly, using my Waitrose card every time. Never a single voucher sent through the post. Yet the people who lived here before got them all the time!?

Takingabreakagain · 30/12/2021 15:23

@Ironmanrocks I've never had a free M&S shop but I did get the Lloyds Bank one many years ago. I can't remember what I bought but the refund was £170!

JoyOrbison · 30/12/2021 15:24

My sil had this at Superdrug - and the woman servo g her them said "Do you need any perfumes or aftershaves as you might as well get them now" Shock

Her shopping then ended up. About £200 all for free!!

Oldhag5 · 30/12/2021 15:25

My brother did. When he did a very small shop on someone else’s behalf….

leguma · 30/12/2021 15:25

YES I did!! Last year. Sadly on that occasion I had only picked up a couple of reduced pizzas, grand total less than £5... Sad
