I've fallen in love with a leather purse in the sale £95 reduced from £190
I'm tempted but so soon after Xmas gifts I'm not sure if I can justify it.
Would you?
Is it too expensive ?

Yes definitely! I put all my Christmas money together a few years ago and bought myself a small mulberry purse. I still use it every day. It's still in great condition and I think about the lovely people who contributed to it when I use it Smile.

PieMistee · 28/12/2021 23:31

No. But I only spend extra money on holidays and going out. I don't own a purse anyway!

wtfisthatspiderdoing · 28/12/2021 23:33

If you have the money to treat yourself, then yes absolutely do it. You use your purse daily, you'll enjoy having it every day, and it will last you years. Enjoy your treat Smile

Yes do it!!

Stomacharmeleon · 28/12/2021 23:39

I think some things are worth the extra lay out. Purses being one :)

Vegetalienne · 28/12/2021 23:46

Not if animals have died to make it.

Kite22 · 28/12/2021 23:52

No, I'd honestly rather spend a fiver and have £90 in my purse.

However I have no doubt spent large amounts of money on things in my life that others would consider to be a ridiculous waste of money, so, as long as this is "spare money" that you don't have anything else you ought to be spending it on, knock yourself out.

OppsUpsSide · 28/12/2021 23:54

I have had the same purse my whole adult life, initial big out lay but saved £££’s during the decades I have used it. No one has ever even attempted to buy me a replacement.
Do it!

Debsdonein · 29/12/2021 00:02

Yes. I bought myself a mulberry purse and after 3 year it still looks like new.

IsDaveThere · 29/12/2021 01:03

No, I wouldn't. Who uses a purse these days anyway? It's all card purchases, and even those are set up on Google pay so I don't even need to take the actual card with me, just my phone.

ConsuelaHammock · 29/12/2021 01:54

Yes. You’ll have it for years.

3luckystars · 29/12/2021 01:56

I promise would for someone else but not myself.Grin get it!!’

WarmWhiteXmasLights · 29/12/2021 01:58

I think I paid about £350 for mine three years ago and I’d swear it’s actually getting nicer as it ages.

If you can afford it, go for it.

Jowak1 · 29/12/2021 02:55

Yes a good leather purse will last you years

DancesWithFelines · 29/12/2021 03:14

I would love to see it! Love a purse

1forAll74 · 29/12/2021 03:42

No, I wouldn't pay a lot for a purse. I am still using a leather purse after seven years, that I bought from a charity all those years ago.

Tee20x · 29/12/2021 03:44

Another one for get the purse. Love purses and handbags and paid a bit more than that for my newest one.

UsernameInTheTown · 29/12/2021 03:45

My Mulberry purse cost £295. Cost per use is peanuts I use it so often!

MiniPumpkin · 29/12/2021 04:01

IMO designer bags and purses last much longer than cheaper high street ones, I’ve had bags and purses from the likes of new look, d Perkins and r island. I bought a couple of Kate spade bags and a purse and I’ve had them for years now, when previously I was replacing every year. Go for it

CruellaDeVilla · 29/12/2021 04:02

Buy it

YesILikeItToo · 29/12/2021 04:26

Coincidentally, this is exactly how much I spent on my Mulberry purse, which gives some insight into how long it has lasted, as they seem to cost about £300 now. I remember thinking it was a lot, but I had been so fussy about what I wanted and had looked for one for so long that I decided it was worth it. It’s very tiny - I made the man in the shop let me test that a £20 note would actually fit inside before I committed!

Scrunchies · 29/12/2021 05:35

I’m sure my mulberry purse was about 200-300, I honestly have no idea as it was about 12 years ago. Still looks good as new.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 29/12/2021 07:44

Yes. I have a handbag that's £600.

LeroyJenkinssss · 29/12/2021 07:51

I have an aspinal that was given to me by a very dear friend a few years ago. It cost just about £180 but still looks beautiful and I use it every day so cost per use is very low.

Unfortunately it meant that I discovered a previously unknown love of nice handbags so has cost me houndreds in that way Grin

MerryChristmas21 · 29/12/2021 07:52

@louloulemmonnnn

I'm using my mobile that's all so not sure how to copy and paste (technology isn't my strong point )
I have an iPhone, not android, but I just tap on the website 'header/address' (like Mumsnet.com) twice and the option to 'copy' appears, tap that, then double tap in the space where you post and the option to 'paste' cones up.

Sorry for the clunky explanation!!
