Hi all
I’ve got around 4 stone to lose- made a couple of very half hearted attempts but don’t ever stick to anything 😩

I’m late 40s, and currently around 15 stone and a size 18, do little exercise and eat far too much chocolate and fast food!

So many different options out there, ultimately need to eat less and eat better while moving more - so not sure why it’s so hard for me to do?!

For those who are looking to lose weight and get fitter in 2022, what will you be doing?

Thanks so much

I am the same weight/ size as you! Also planning to lose 4st. The last time I lose 3stone was when I cut out all sweet stuff. Hell it was. Cravings got better over time but right now I'm a sugar addict. I WILL be going as sugar free as possible from Jan 2nd. I am suffering now - aching hips, weak knees and huge boobs. I feel and look horrendous (not saying you are op - just how I feel about myself).

I won't go out or socialise and I have lost many friends now because of that. So n
2022 is going to be it. It has to be. Wishing you so much luck 💐💐

I'm just continuing on what I've been doing for the past six weeks. Eating things that are good for me. Not eating chocolate by the case load and trying to exercise even a tiny bit (I have a disability that makes this extremely difficult). I haven't lost much so far (only about five pounds) but considering I barely move I'm OK with that. I know I am putting mostly good things into myself.

I have lost just over 4 stones in 14 weeks with The New You Plan (thread in Weight Loss Chat).
I am sticking with that!

I need to do something too. I'm considering some sort of fasting plan as I find anything where you watch calories time consuming and expensive. With the fasting, I can simple buy less food and just cook one meal for everyone else.
It's hard though, I can do it for a couple of weeks but then I always seem to give up.
I'm a size 16 and look particularly terrible in photos. Sad

@JamieFraserskiltspeaksout hello twin!

I feel the same as you at time, but mostly in detail about just how fat I look as I don’t look in mirrors much and am one of those funny fat people so hide it well!

A recent family event and Xmas photos as well as comments from people I’ve not seen since lockdown started, hit hard when you know they are true.

3 stone is brilliant, well done you! If you’ve done it once, you can do it again!

Good luck to us all!

5lbs off is brilliant, what a fab start! It’s definitely a mind set thing isn’t it, getting your head in the zone if the hardest thing but have to have a long term approach to health and weight loss.

I have I think about 6 to lose. I feel awful. I ache, I’m breathless and don’t get me started on photos. I’m considering a low cal diet to really get me started because I don’t do well with moderating what I eat.

Wow!! Go you!! I did a weight loss shake plan a few years ago, and lost a couple of stone then but put it all back on when I stopped the shakes 😩😩

@Fadingout do what you can to get started. I’m going for a walk tomorrow just to get some exercise. What would you do that’s low cal? @Hippywannabei posted about New You plan above that’s worked brilliantly! Also Noom seems good?

I’m planning to diet for the first time in years.

Cut out the chocolate, crisps and other snacks. Need to replace them with something- fruit maybe? Water.

Ask DP not to do evening treats and tempt me.

Accept I’ll be cooking twice.

Then look at improving breakfast choices, then lunch , then tea.

If I can get breakfast sorted I’ll move into lunch. Hopefully it’ll all fall into place.

And exercise more.

UnknownFemale01 · 26/12/2021 20:52

I'm booked for a gastric bypass at the end of January, start my pre-op diet on 12th January 🙏 I want to lose between 7-8 stone.

StoopitAutocarrot · 26/12/2021 20:52

I’ve at least 2 stone to lose. Will be doing fast 800 once all the Christmas treats have been eaten!

CornishTiger · 26/12/2021 20:53

I’d like to lose 5 stone. Im half stone lighter than this time last year without trying so need to do something.

Fadingout · 26/12/2021 21:00

I’m going with something similar to Cambridge I think to get me started. I need to shift the very bad habits.

4 stone in 14 weeks???
LadyCampanulaTottington · 26/12/2021 22:04

I’m doing Protein Priority Diet. I’ve lost 15lbs since November so ready to jump back on. We’re starting in January with a 30 Day Hard Challenge and I’m giving up coffee and chocolate.

I’ve another 25lbs to lose. Wish me luck!!!

ilovetomatoes · 26/12/2021 22:08

Will also be doing fast 800 in January then move to 5:2. Also agreed with husband we won’t have alcohol at home anymore, only when we’re going out which I think will really help with lol g term maintenance

TotoAnnihiliation · 26/12/2021 22:13

I need to lose the same amount OP. I just need to stop eating chocolate! I'm going to try and move a bit more, starting by adding an extra 2000 steps a day. Having a fitness overhaul sets me up to failure, so I'm going slowly!

MoFro · 26/12/2021 23:40

@UnknownFemale01 oooh that’s a big step! Wish you all the very best - going to be life changing for you!

OP posts:
MoFro · 26/12/2021 23:42

@TotoAnnihiliation I’ve just dug out the terrys chocolate orange segments! Eating all the crap before New Years

Tbh I’ve not weighed myself in months so am probably over what I think I am 😩😩

OP posts:
MoFro · 26/12/2021 23:44

@LadyCampanulaTottington sounds like a proper commitment from you both! My danger time is evening snacks and a fat-feeder DH who needs to lose 2-3 stone too.

Is the 30 day hard a paid programme?

Just found this online - looks good but I need help to stick with it! Started couch25K so many times but stop after first few days

Biggest challenge is consistency!

I’ll be doing the Blood Sugar Diet (again). I’ve got about 3 stones to lose and I lose a stone a month on the BSD.

Wowcherarestalkingme · 26/12/2021 23:54

I’ve got 2 1/2 stone to lose. I’ve been on slimming world for the last two years and lost five (put 1.5 back on recently) so I’m sticking to that and want to be at my target before the summer
