Do you have any goals for 2022?

I don't want to make resolutions necessarily (as I always break them)!

But I have a few goals in mind. Might even make a little bullet journal type thing to try to achieve them.

Wonder if other people are doing the same

My goal is to look after myself better. I've really neglected myself over the past 2 years and need to change that. Next year will be lots of small goals to build up to the big goal.

Harpydragon · 26/12/2021 10:44

Yes I have a couple of things I would like to sort out for me. I have a diary in my amazon basket, I hope writing things down will help me achieve them

SarahJessicaParker1 · 26/12/2021 10:44

Yes, I think ultimately, my goal is the same - t take care of myself.

Also using smaller goals to get there eg, we have young dcs and work part time. I'm getting them into childcare, hopefully after Easter, so I can get back to full time work, building up pension etc. Also I need to spend more time on self care type things.

I am going to try to make the best of things and be more positive. I'm not miserable or anything but I've got into a bit of a slump and I'm letting things wind me up that really shouldn't.

I'm also going to try and get more sleep.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 26/12/2021 11:01

Lose weight and get fitter. I've been hovering at about a stone overweight for 3 years now, so not a huge amount to lose but it all sits on my belly and doesn't look good.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 26/12/2021 11:03

Oh and try and sort out my finances, I really need to start paying more into a pension. I didn't start a pension pot until I was 28.

AfterEightMintyCedric · 26/12/2021 11:04

Just the one...completely change my life!

EssexLioness · 26/12/2021 11:09

I choose a focus word/ short phrase each year rather than resolutions. s year was ‘rise to the challenge’. This year is ‘vitality’ as I want to improve my energy, fitness etc through sleep, exercise, good food choices etc.

rifling · 26/12/2021 11:09

Last year my goal was to get fitter - and I did, a bit! This year I would like to build on that also from a diet perspective.

andpeggy1 · 26/12/2021 11:19

Get pregnant, stay pregnant, give birth to a healthy baby,

GlassRaven · 26/12/2021 11:20

Love this idea.

Lose the extra 2 stone I've gained over various isolations since the pandemic began. I had two goals last year; to lose weight and learn a new language, but I put my heart and soul into Spanish lessons and losing the weight fell by the wayside. Im not disappointed in myself because I'm proud of how competent I am in Spanish and Italian, but time to focus on that weight problem this January I think!!

Dancingqueen90 · 26/12/2021 11:41

I want to sort out some debt and clear it down. I am living pay check to pay check. I have already started putting money away each month to cover after school / holiday clubs as that seems to hit me each quarter.

I also want to reduce my alcohol intake. I feel rubbish the next day and feel quite lonely. Will start with reducing to Fri and Sat eve only.

I used a bullet journal for last year goals and it really helped. I shifted some weight and found a exercise I really love. I find it take me the first quarter of the year to embed something and by spring it becomes part of life so I am hoping it will be the same again this year....

TerraNovaTwo · 26/12/2021 11:42

I have goals linked to the important areas of my life: health, family and home, financial and professional. Most of them are dependent on finances and health (physical and mental).

ChimpyChops · 26/12/2021 11:44

I need to lose 6st, I'm suffering now, aching knees and no energy. It affects my life and that of my children, enough is enough.

HelloCanYouHearMe · 26/12/2021 12:08

3 things I want to achieve:

Shift my lockdown weight gain (1.5 stone)
Complete my degree (final year)
Change jobs

daisym00n · 26/12/2021 18:13

To bench press 50kg and deadlift 100kg.

JackieCollinshasnoauthority · 26/12/2021 18:31

Yes yes yes.

I'm going to get a tattoo, run for elected office (and hopefully win), sort out my husband's pension, less screentime, redecorate.

I might figure out a few more before new year.

Daisiesandsweetpeas · 26/12/2021 18:32

Love the idea of word/phrase for the year.
I'm going to steal vitality. I have ongoing health issues to need to focus more of nutrition, rest, sleep and so on to feel my best.
Also 'sustainability'. I'm trying to be more environmentally friendly and would like to build on that this year.

SarahJessicaParker1 · 26/12/2021 18:52

Jumping on the "word for the year" bandwagon Wink, I'm going with "strengthen". I want to ve stronger physically, mentally and financially

duvetdayforeveryone · 26/12/2021 19:27

My word of the year: Enough!

Enough of me being kind and reaching out to people when they don't give a flying fuck about me.

Enough of putting up with toxic people just because we are related.

Enough of constantly telling myself excuses to why I never try to achieve anything.

Enough of being too scared to take any chances.

I'm not getting any younger, and I need to start living my life for me!

duvetdayforeveryone · 26/12/2021 19:29

Enough: I started by deleting all the contacts on my mobile phone who never contact me. Won't bother calling them again.

duvetdayforeveryone · 26/12/2021 19:30

My theme song :D

WakeUpLockie · 26/12/2021 19:31

Live through my c section (I bled a LOT last time and before I got pregnant again I didn’t realise how scared it made me!) and then lose a load of weight.

Finally do extension, or at least get it started.

Continue our lovely chilled family life :)

Get DS2 into some clubs/interests - he’s such a homebod!

alwayswrighty · 26/12/2021 19:31

I've booked in a 10 mile charity run for October.

I want to go to the gym as need to strength train, but I resent the monthly cost.

Less screen time.
