It’s Christmas Day! Will you be leaving your house today?

We’re hosting as always plus it’s cold, grey and drizzly outside. I feel it’s unlikely we’ll be heading out of the house at all today. How common is that?

I don't know if we will even get dressed! The weather is rotten here. A long dog walk was planned but they only went out long enough to wee and run back in.

Just me and DH here today, so have a nice lazy day ahead of us

Nidan2Sandan · 25/12/2021 11:09

We dont usually go out.

I briefly toyed with the idea as we are within 5 minutes walk of a lovely country park, but its hammering it down so will be too muddy and I still havent cleaned up from yesterdays muddy walk.

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 25/12/2021 11:12

Yes absolutely. We always have to get out somewhere every day for fresh air even if it's just the garden / greenhouse. Off to the beach in a bit, wearing ALL the layers 🤣

Sunny here, so a dog walk in a bit

CookieDoughKid · 25/12/2021 11:14

Yes, 3km run. Bliss x

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 25/12/2021 11:19

Would normally go for a walk after Christmas dinner but 4 year old Ds1 and I have Covid Sad so will be staying in. Thankfully he is over the worst of it and I seem to be mostly asymptomatic so we can enjoy the day inside anyway.

Maverickess · 25/12/2021 11:19

Yes I'll be leaving for work shortly, had a nice lazy morning though and no Christmas dinner to cook, coffee, pastries and presents after a lie in!

SpringRainbow · 25/12/2021 11:22

No, it’s unlikely we will go anywhere today. I don’t like leaving the house Christmas Day if I can help it.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 25/12/2021 11:23

I wanted to but it’s way too drizzly out

Laiste · 25/12/2021 11:23

Nope.

I host for 9 today. Beef is on - smells divine :)

I don't want to go anywhere else on xmas day. A friend of mine likes to go for a walk - i don't get it, i have zero inclination to wander round the village in the drizzle on the one day when everyone should be inside eating and drinking and socialising and being all cozy :)

Holothane · 25/12/2021 11:24

No chance I’m grinning like a Cheshire Cat let’s just say karma, so I’m chilling out and doing nothing except eat read my books and quietly grin.

alongwayhome · 25/12/2021 11:26

Been to walk the dog, it was baltic!

PositiveLife · 25/12/2021 11:26

I just did a short walk with the dog I'm looking after.

BluebellsareBlue · 25/12/2021 11:27

East of Scotland (monifieth) been out for an hour with the dog, it's a beautiful day and the sun is shining but jeezy peeps it's bitterly cold!

Megan2018 · 25/12/2021 11:28

I was out at the stables mucking out at 7am. Same every year!
I can’t imagine not doing it. I’ll be back at dusk too.
The only time I’ve been at home all day was when in self isolation, it was weird.

LeuvenMan · 25/12/2021 11:28

Nope, triple jabbed but have still managed to catch covid, so indoors isolation for me (and turkey to eat for the foreseeable future as we had guests planned Sad]

Echobelly · 25/12/2021 11:29

I'll have to get milk at the corner shop at some point! Or could just send oldest.

ProcrastinationIsMySuperPower · 25/12/2021 11:30

Nope. I'm working from home this afternoon/evening, so lazing about until then. Would have gone for a long walk but it's raining cats and dogs here.

IamEarthymama · 25/12/2021 11:30

We aren't seeing family until 27th so lots of lazing under our new throws here.
However EarthyDog would be horrendous without a walk and a chase of his ball so on with the wellies it is! 🐕‍🦺🐕‍🦺

Though my expensive pair sprang a leak yesterday!!

Enjoy your day whatever you do!

AuntieStella · 25/12/2021 11:32

Yes, I've been to parkrun

Probably at home for the rest of the day though

fictionreader · 25/12/2021 11:34

Yes, Ds is a chorister so up early to drive him to church and listen to the service.

HelenaJustina · 25/12/2021 11:40

Yep, we were at 9am Mass 15 minutes early. Will walk the DC and neighbours dog after lunch. Gives the day space and air.

SilverRingahBells · 25/12/2021 11:42

Walked the dog once, nipped to the shop twice to pick up things we'd forgotten for Christmas dinner, will walk the dog again this evening.

ScouseQueen · 25/12/2021 11:51

Going nowhere! It's cold and rainy and we are seeing family later in the week, but today is just us so staying in, snacking and looking forward to our Christmas dinner. Same tomorrow. I love a lounging around Christmas.

VaguelyInteresting · 25/12/2021 11:56

Yeah we’ll walk the dog and probably stop off at the playground with DS after canapés at lunch time, and before Christmas dinner at 5ish. Have to get out every day, at least for a bit, or I start to feel anxious, v quickly.
