Everyone probably has one that does their head in when they hear it?

I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day is one I find annoying when it comes on.

I know it raised a shedload of money, but the lyrics to Do They Know It’s Christmas are just ducking* awful.

Also agree with PP about Buble’s Santa Baby. Ducker*.

*I have given up fighting my prudish autocorrect.

Lonely this Christmas!

Cherryblossoms85 · 23/12/2021 16:09

Have a look at the history of Baby it's Cold Outside. Not quite what you think. Here's an interesting article that casts it in a different light: medium.com/s/pop-feminism/the-problem-with-baby-its-cold-outside-isn-t-consent-it-s-slut-shaming-cf672009d2c5

MrsTophamHat · 23/12/2021 16:10

Stop The Cavalry is a bit annoying

Wonderful Christmastime

It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas

roundtable · 23/12/2021 16:16

Do they know it's Christmas - of course they know it's Christmas in the Christian countries and yes there is fucking snow. DH quietly switches the station if it comes on to preempt my ranting!

Manzana · 23/12/2021 16:20

Step into Christmas, I would be very glad never to hear it again, I worked at a christmas lights trail and it was played on a loop, so that probably explains it, also Feliz Navidad, just the tune, it gets stuck as in my head

MrTumblesEyebrows · 23/12/2021 16:22

Any cover of "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" because it should only ever be sung by Darlene Love.

The Michael Bublé one is especially soulless and the Little Mix version is fucking awful.

If she’s being a coy slut then good for her Xmas Wink

BearSoFair · 23/12/2021 16:23

Little Saint Nick. Run run fucking reindeer gives me the rage, I have been known to walk out of shops if it comes on!

ThePontiacBandit · 23/12/2021 16:27

The sodding Darkness and Christmas time. I hate it. I HATE it! My H (no D at this point) knows this and thinks it funny and clever to use it as his ringtone. Then when his phone rings it gets stuck in my head Hmm

Xanadu58 · 23/12/2021 16:27

Merry Xmas war is over John Lennon

Ceramide · 23/12/2021 16:27

Santa Baby
I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus
Fairytale of New York

TheCreamCaker · 23/12/2021 16:27

Anything by Cliff Richard

Mackmama · 23/12/2021 16:29

Every. Single. One.

Nodney · 23/12/2021 16:32

Another vote for Wonderful Christmas Time, Paul McCartney. It just sounds like they had a party in a pub and put it out as a single.

Heatherjayne1972 · 23/12/2021 16:33

The band aid one
Just awful
Do they know it’s Christmas?- yes yes they do
‘Thank God its them instead of you’

Not cool.

PeskyRobins · 23/12/2021 16:33

I hate Santa Baby especially when it's sung by Kylie. So breathy and try hard, makes me proper cringe disgusting!
Also the John Lennon one, fuck off mate.

OhLookMoreShit · 23/12/2021 16:34

They are all absolute wank

FestiveFruitloop · 23/12/2021 16:34

@AdoptedBumpkin

Can't think of any off the top of my head - but I could live without ever hearing "All I want for Christmas..."
I've started to feel that way simply because the song is so flipping overplayed, which is a pity because I used to really like it.

I've gone off Fairytale over the years for the same reason. So many great Christmas songs, I like to hear a mix of them all.

My answer to the question, though, is Destiny's Child's version of Rudolph, partly because of the awful claymation video.

Plus the Jacksons' version of Santa Claus Is Coming To Town. I'm not keen on the song to start with, but this version I particularly hate.

Vanuatu · 23/12/2021 16:34

As pp said anything by Cliff but absolute worst is Shakin Stevens. I have to turn it off and the video OMG!

DisforDarkChocolate · 23/12/2021 16:35

The new Ed Sheeran and Elton John one.

Christmas cliché vomit.

Duchess379 · 23/12/2021 16:37

Fairytale of NY

Floralnomad · 23/12/2021 16:37

Anything by Paul McCartney .
